  1. Walking funny..........
  2. Hiya mate.....welcome to the Forum...... I think Nell has answered the original question pretty thoroughly....nothing I can add to that..... Gear need not be expensive.......the most important thing about the crash helmet is that it fits you......too loose and it could come off in an accident.....too tight and it'll be uncomfortable and distracting after a while on the bike......Check out the Sharp website for ideas of price and safety ratings of lids: http://sharp.direct.gov.uk/ Bike clothing is dependant on the sort of riding you intend to do.......if you only ever intend on going out on sunny afternoons then a set of leathers and an oversuit just in case would probably suit OK......but if you're planning on using the bike year round...then a set of decent textiles may be a better bet...... Leather bike boots and gloves are always a good thing to have too..... Prices can vary wildly.....so just do some searches on the sort of gear you think you'll need and then come back and ask here if you want any advice on what you've seen.....
  3. An old mate of mine hit an old fella who jumped out of a car in front of him many years back......Threw my mate and his girlfriend off the bike....but killed the old fella....
  4. I missed this earlier....but I'm glad you got the bike you are happy with...... Welcome to TMBF by the way.....hope to hear how you get on once you collect the bike and get some miles under your belt......
  5. Acting Strange......I'm still going to Rutland.......just going on the comfort of the Gel seat on my Speedie......so chips and salad are still on me.......
  6. I think I may give that a miss Ian......I don't think my a*se will have recovered by then...... The YBR is a good little bike.....but my backside was crackin' nuts by the time I got back...... I've been pampered by these Gel seats for too long now......
  7. I guess the only other thing to mention is: SOUTH SHORE - EDITH WESTON (LE15 8HD) - CRAZY FOX CAFE As we nearly always have some go to the other Fox cafe.....
  8. Don't think you need brake cleaner mate......just a brush or compressed air (just cover your mouth and nose if you use air....you don't want to be inhaling that dust)......
  9. Nice one Tommy....congrats...... Hmmmmm....now which bike is it going to be?.......
  10. If anyone from this area is heading to the beginning of season meet at Rutland on Sunday 21st April we were discussing a rendezvous at the Harford Marina (PE28 2AA) for the ride over there. Departing approx 12:00 from the Marina to arrive at Rutland approx 13:00. All welcome......
  11. Saw Joe a few years back at the Cambridge Corn Exchange.......we were right near the front......got some pics on my phone but can't put them on here coz it don't like the file extension......
  12. Nice work Allan......looking really good...... Saw the post earlier today...but was on site on work laptop which has so much security on it I can't do anything with it....so couldn't even see the pics...... CBT booked?
  13. I went camping several times in my younger days with my girlfriend at the time......so 2-up with camping gear and a weeks worth of clothes......on a Honda 175.....and tents weren't as light as they are now..... 125's are always welcome.......in fact last year there was a rideout that was specifically aimed at riders with 125's.....with a mixture of other bikes thrown in too......it worked really well and I think everone really enjoyed it.....
  14. Hi Roy.....was a bit windy....but it was fairly constant with no real gusts.....so just had to lean the bike into it a bit on some of the more exposed roads......temp was just right though.....and the roads were nice and dry...... Yeah...got all the tags we set out to get....inspite of my satnav which wasn't playing ball today..... Approx 130 mile round trip......
  15. So did the bike just go over it? I always thought you'd just come straight off if you hit anything bigger than a squirrel! Poor kitty cat. And lol - not heard 'coffin dodger' for a while Nah....I just clipped it......it ran across the road from under a parked car just as I approached.....no time to react.......
  16. Bonnie and Speedie at Ollie Cromwell's House in Ely......very windy day......
  17. Hit a cat many years ago.......just stunned it I think....I stopped to go back and see if it was OK......but the coffin dodger that I'd just overtaken came trundling along and went straight over it.....didn't even see it......so I got back on the bike and went.....the old fella squished it good and proper.....no point in checking it out.......
  18. How many owners has it had Matty.......he may not have even been aware of the damage himself if it was done before he got it.....but even so he's gotta accept some responsibility for advertising it accurately.....
  19. Yeah....if the seller has misrepresented the item then you are well within your rights to demand a refund and make him come to you to pick the bike up.......but obviously that's your call........otherwise see if he'll cough up for the repairs if you're still happy with the bike and new stanchions will sort it.....but even if it's an auction you still have protection......
  20. Any redress on the seller of the VTR?.....was it an eBay sale? If no redress....will the front end off another bike fit? That's all bad news Matty....hope you get it sorted OK mate......
  21. Don't try dropping the seal size 1mm.......I had a set of seals on the Trophy that were the wrong size and I could not get the fork legs into them..... I'd say deffo go for OEM seals.....some of the cheapo ones are cr*p....... How does the fork leg that's leaking look compared to the other one?......any scoring on that one too? Can you polish the score line out?
  22. No probs Darren.....are you gonna make it along to the Rutland meet then mate?.......if you are we'll arrange a meet-up at the Marina if you like and head over from there?......
  23. We're already planning a Tag run around the area tomorrow......but I'm gonna put the Triumph Day at the Ace on 9th June up a bit nearer the time to see if anyone would be interested. Have a good run mate......
  24. Looking forward to seeing it in all its glory Allan......maybe also see you down the Hartford Marina on a Tuesday night once you've got your CBT and the bike back on the road......
