  1. Hey Moo......I've got a Belstaff Textile jacket XL size (I'm 44" chest and it fits OK) that I'm giving away....well, maybe a small donation to the forum would be appreciated......which is bl**dy warm.....so, I don't know if that would help Ollie out 'till the BMF.....and release your jacket back to you..... Just a thought.......
  2. Eric Gales - Block Out the Sun....... ">
  3. No you're not....you're on the computer......get on with it man.....
  4. What's wrong with getting cold Moo.....isn't that why you've got an Ollie to warm you up?........ Anywhooo......Maplins sometimes have a special on heated gear.....may be worth a look.......
  5. Hi Vis jacket or vest would go down well at the test centre...... Someone posted elsewhere that Aldi or Lidl have armoured Kevlar lined jeans on sale at £30....may be worth a punt.....
  6. Nice one Alan........congrats...... Better get that bike finished then mate......
  7. Just seen a pic of the bike......very nice mate.......and the cat that's got the cream eh mate......
  8. I agree with Stu....it could be the pistons in the calipers a little sticky from underuse.......they may also be a bit dirty......or there could be a stone or some cr*p in there that a good cleanup would sort....
  9. You can only carry a pillion when you have your full license as far as I'm aware.......but you can ride a 125 with L-plates on your own unsupervised once you have passed your CBT.....
  10. Also from the SV rider forum: http://www.svrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117144 Some interesting stuff.....well worth reading through.....
  11. Could be the Fuel pump itself on the blink........dunno if there's any way of testing it......gotta say that I'm not aware of ECU's themselves giving a lot of trouble.....but I could be wrong....... ECU itself is normally pretty easy to change as it just plugs in.....the only problem you may have is making sure it has the correct map in there for your bike...... Should've bought a Triumph.....could've done all that yourself via some free software.....and even turned the pump on and off in the diagnostic mode...... Anyway....I'd be looking at some way of checking the fuel pump if I were you......
  12. Couldn't agree more.....just when I thought the weather was going to get better....it isn't..... Anyway.....looking forward to getting out on the bike more soon....and getting to the Marina a bit more regularly......
  13. Ah, the joy of scalding hot oil running down your hand and up your sleeve. Great for removing unwanted tattoos. No pain, no gain.........
  14. Don't forget to warm the bike for a while before you try to drain the old oil.....it'll come out a lot easier if it's warm.......
  15. Just gonna bump this one as it's only a few weeks away.......will be planning routes to maybe pick up a few tags as well.......

    Engine Keeps Running

Yep....that's about it. The key switch would normally have 4 wires going to it......2 which are connected together to put power onto the bike for starting.....which are there already....and those other 2 wires that would be joined together to kill the ignition.....basically it grounds one side of the CDI to kill the spark......

Dunno mate....but this is a generic Chinese 4-stroke wiring diagram.....see if you can mak sense of it, but it looks to me like the wires that are taken to the Dead switch on your bike would normally be fed to the Main Switch and would be shorted together when the switch is off....although from this diagram they are different colours......
  19. Yeah.....it's getting the adjustment nut so that there's no movement in the head bearings....but they're not so tight as to make the steering sticky. Just tighten the adjustment nut a small amount and then check the play in the forks....if there's still a bit of movement adjust it a little more. When it's right then tighten the lock nut......
  20. OK Gayle....sounds like the head bearings could do with adjusting....and maybe new wheel bearing time too....
  21. I'd go with coolant overflow too......had this on my Speed 4 when I had it......even though it was only filled to the upper level the liquid expands with heat and some comes down the overflow.....
  22. Would that be the Tried & Tested section of the Forum then Moo?........
  23. Something that I've seen that looks and sounds like loose head bearings but isn't......the bobbins on the floating front disks wear and have a little bit of play in them......so if you rock the bike forwards and back with the front brake on you can feel a knock coming up through the steering......maybe worth checking as well Gayle.....
  24. Alex....be very, very careful when drilling it.....if you snap a drill bit off in there you are well and truly fooked......
  25. I use a Hot Air paint stripper gun.....works fine and is less likely to set fire to something than a blow torch...... I think Hodgy's comment on using PlusGas is a good one....WD40 isn't a penetrating oil......
