  1. Glad you got back OK too Darren.......hope the back isn't giving you too much gyp..... Unfortunately I got into the ride back and left Mandy, Selcan and Wayne a bit behind me....forgot all about Mandy needing a refuel stop.......so, sorry about that guys.....it wasn't something you said.... Mandy is cleaning the bike at the moment....but she has some pictures from today that she'll upload a bit later...... Apparently there were 160 bikes on the ride......so I think it can be chalked down as a success.....and probably raised a reasonable amount for MAGPAS......
  2. Cruisers have longer wheelbases than sports bikes....so they tend to be a bit slower to turn in. As you are new to riding you may want to check a few things with the bike first.......and I'd start with the tyre pressures....if the tyres are a bit soft it can make the turning sluggish and the bike will not necessarily go where you are pointing it..... Also just check the head bearings....just in case they've got a flat or tight spot in the straight position as this can make turning a bit harder too. Give yourself a bit of time to get used to the bike and I'm sure you will adapt your riding to suit this particular bike. Good Luck......
  3. No probs Terry....... Yeah....it sure was a nice day today......didn't get out on the bike....but put some of the paintguard kit on.....so it's all ready for tomorrow.... Have a good day with the family mate....and hopefully see you at the marina on Tuesday (work & weather permitting.... )......
  4. Generally 2-stroke engines tend to be a bit more fragile than 4-stroke engines.....it's not just down to keeping the 2-stroke oil topped up, but they tend to wear out quicker. They tend to foul plugs, some suffer with weak bottom ends, some burn pistons, piston rings can get gummed, coke builds up quicker in combustion chambers and exhausts requiring de-cokes, etc. If you enjoy rebuilding engines then get one....if you just want a bike to ride, then think more about a 4-stroke.....
  5. Sorry Matt, but I don't know much about Divvys..... But I know that a lot of guys swap front ends from other bikes and rear shocks........so I guess you need to get the measurements off your current bike and trawl the net. With regards the forks, would putting a slightly heavier oil in improve things?......Cheaper upgrade than replacing the whole front end if it works....maybe worth a punt just to see..... I guess the thing you need to consider with the rear shock is that the Divvy is heavier than the Fazer......so the suspension may be firm on the Fazer but the extra weight of the Divvy may be too much for the shock. Anyway......check measurements etc and have a hunt round....and maybe look for a Divvy forum and see if anyone has posted mod's in there.....
  6. Hey Selcan....will be great to see you both.....hope you are feeling OK?.... Bit of fresh air on the bike will sort you out though......
  7. Or a dodgy Sidestand switch......
  8. It's a double filament bulb and the brake light filament has gone......new bulb time.....
  9. Yeah?.....I think I'll give it a miss then.....
  10. Hi David....the ride starts out from Waterbeach at 10:30.....I don't know what route is planned but I guess straight up the A10 as it'll be easier to keep everyone together. So I guess it should be passing through Kings Lynn somewhere between 11:00-11:15.....
  11. The state I`m normally in, I could be in the next bloody field, so I`m with Gary Hey Neil.....you normally are!!....
  12. That's coming along nicely Nat...... Ready in time for the Rally?
  13. Yeah Terry, was a good chat..... I know 08:45 is almost indecent for a Sunday morning......and I guess we'll have to take it a bit easy Saturday night too..... If the forecast stays as it is it should be a good run up to Hunny......
  14. Not too bad then Sue.......hopefully not too many more drop-outs.....
  15. Welcome to the Forum mate...... CBT should be a doddle for you.....it's mainly about basic motorcycle control.....
  16. How are we doing for numbers so far?
  17. Forecast looking good at the moment...... No probs Darren.....we'll stop at the garage and head down to wheelfit with you.....
  18. Yes Dave.....but the carpark at the front of the ACE is reserved for Triumphs......to save their pure blood being contaminated with the mud-bloods......
  19. Congrats Luke.....nice one..... Soon be scouring the market for that new bike then?........ Good luck with the DAS.......
  20. Is that each Rach or for both of you? See I've lost touch with all this.....last time I went to a bike race was when Barry Sheene and Kenny Roberts were battling it out.....
  21. Ok mate......so it sounds like something in the transmission line or possibly clutch otherwise you'd hear it when stationary too. Chain not too tight is it? Could be putting a strain on the gearbox output shaft.... Worth checking oil as Colin says as this lubricates the transmission and clutch as well as the engine.....
  22. We could well be heading down to this. If anyone else is interested post up on here and we'll arrange to meet/ride down there. http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/files/sp ... s-2012.pdf Cheers......
  23. Weather at the moment looks OK for Sunday....so let's keep fingers crossed. If anyone is heading for this run from Huntingdon or surrounding area I think myself and Bonniebird will start out from Hartford Marina, PE28 2AA at 09:00 to get to Wheelfit motorcycles for 09:30-09:45 so we can get some raffle tickets and have a look around before the rideout. So we'll aim to meet at the Marina from 08:45. See ya there....
  24. Nice one Joni....congrats on the pass..... If you're looking for a 125 I would suggest looking at some of the Jap 125's. This is a regular subject on here....and sometimes controversial.....but the fact of the matter is that you will be more likely to get decent money back from an older Jap 125 to put towards your next bike. BonnieBird's daughter has an oldish Honda CG125......it gets fairly neglected....but starts first time every time......simple, solid, reliable bike.....and was picked up cheap...so may even turn a profit when it gets sold....
  25. This whining noise.....while on the move or whilst stationary?
