  1. Muddy Fox?......ain't that a make of push bike? Crazy Fox cafe is the one (which I think you meant anyway.... ). Which is also a Tag on the Challenge 100.....so don't forget your number and camera if you are signed up for this.....
  2. The more the merrier Terry......no probs. I think Sunday will be OK.....not so sure about Monday though....
  3. Definitely GOG........unless we make a wrong turn at Scotch Corner.......
  4. Nice one Ali.......bet it felt good to get out on the bike after that fair lay-off...... Stunning scenery around there mate......be no good for me on the bike though.......I'd be so busy rubber necking the scenery I'd probably end up in a lake or river enroute......
  5. Well yep....fuel pump cutting out would certainly do it......hope you get it sorted mate......
  6. Could just be water in the ignition circuit. Normally if it was fuel shortage you'de get a bit of misfiring and jerkiness before it cut out. Spray the electrical circuits with WD40 or ACF50 and try again. If it still don't work take the plug out and check the spark like GOG suggested. Good Luck.....
  7. Nice one RicKsTa........you just can't beat going into a store and haggling some times......
  8. No problem Karimura.......I'm guessing you mean North Chelmsford as I'm not a local.... Give us an idea where you are likely to be and we'll look out for you.....
  9. Sorry Boothy....nothing personal you know......
  10. Nice one Dave....see ya at the Marina if weather is OK. Did go down a few years back in snow flurries.....wasn't fun....and that was on my Trophy with full fairing and heated grips!....
  11. Just bumping this to get an idea of who's gonna be coming along..... Think we'll depart Hartford Marina around 10:30 so we can get to the Crazy Fox and drink all the tea before TC arrives.....
  12. OK guys......I'll assume that if you're not there at 09:30 you had too good a weekend then!!... Yeah...looking forward to it too Alan......See ya at the Hungry Horse (Traveller's Joy) around 12:00 mate.....
  13. Congrats mate..... Just take it a bit easy for a while until you tune into the new bike.......
  14. Ok folks.....assuming that the weather for next Monday is OK...... The plan is to depart from Hartford Marina (PE28 2AA) at 09:30 Easter Monday .....so rendezvous there from 09:00. We'll follow the route that I put up further up the thread until I get lost....and then we'll make it up as we go along...... We plan to join up with BonnieBird's brother at the Travellers Joy pub in Rayleigh (SS6 9JF) around 12:00. Then ride into Southend via some of the back roads to avoid some of the congestion and make our way along the seafront and squeeze the bikes in amongst the other several thousand bikes there. If anyone else wants to meet enroute let me know and we'll sort meeting points and approx times. Hope that the weather picks up a bit as it's a really great day out...... If you are planning on coming along please indicate on the thread. Just so's we've got an idea and don't push off and leave people behind..... Tango
  15. Nice one SilverSpring....... We never stop learning while riding a bike.......but to get your riding assessed by an impartial expert must rank as one of the most worthwhile things to do..... I'm seriously considering doing the BikeSafe thing as I figure I'm still not too old to learn...... Thanks for posting this up as I'm sure that there are a large number of riders around who think that once they pass their test that's it....no need to worry about any more training.....so it's good to know that there is a real benefit to this sort of training/ assessment.....
  16. Actually noticed a couple of drops coming from the expansion tank overflow today. Level in the tank is OK....so I guess it's just fluid that is collecting in the overflow pipe.....condensation or slight overflow.....just a couple of drops where we stopped for a cuppa and a couple more when we got back. See if you can follow the overflow pipe from the expansion tank and see where it comes out the bottom of the bike and if that is where the liquid is coming from. ...
  17. Ok Alex....I'm not gonna preach at you...but if the bike was wobbling at low speed after an off I don't think I would have then gone on to see what it would do at higher speeds.... The wobble at low speed could be something that is about to fail....so you really don't want to be pushing high speeds when whatever it is could fail catastrophically..... I hope that the problem is minor and easily remedied....but I personally would not be using the bike until I found out what it was..... Just looking out for ya mate.....
  18. Hi Karimura......yeah those back roads are a route that BonnieBird's brother takes us to avoid the A127. We then drop down to the front east of the main esplanade and come back along. If it's a nice day you'll see why we do this.....

    CAM Tensioner

Check eBay for new downpipes.......you may be able to get it welded, but if it has rotted through there may no be enough good metal to weld.......
  20. Hood do them ...... http://www.hoodjeans.co.uk/acatalog/k7- ... t.html#a49
  21. I've got some Hood jeans and so far they are good. A bit warmer than normal jeans as they have the kevlar lining....but that's the price of protection. You can also get vented textiles with armour....which are good for really hot weather. I've also got some Triumph leather jeans....which are really good leather and the armour is quite discreet which are OK while on the move but can get a bit hot when walking around.
  22. Check your rad for leaks....can get stones making holes in them (I know from experience).......but more than likely from the expansion tank overflow......
  23. I'd take the tap apart and check it internally just in case there's a bit of rubbish stuck in there..then give it a blow out with compressed air...
  24. Yeah....it's just a manual tap. Just as a matter of interest have you tried leaving it on reserve?
  25. I think you'd need to consider getting a new lid mate.....don't think the chin straps are replaceable.
