  1. Welcome to the forum. Get a copy of the highway code and memorise it. Also see if you can find out about the controls on a bike and what they do. Going into the CBT with as much theory as possible will make it lots easier.

    Worked loose

Dealer cop out! Didn't they do a pre delivery inspection? Phone the free recovery number and have them take it back to be thoroughly checked. No point buying brand new if you rectify the faults yourself.
  3. Spag Bol, chilly, burritos, curry, loads of stuff you can make, and you can make the sources in large quantities and freeze in small tubs.
  4. Lol, was it tied to a chair with a spotlight in its face?? I'll make sure I check for hostages regularly.. Haha
  5. Something ive never understood is why people are so secretive about who they vote for. If you feel strongly enough to vote you shouldnt be worried about letting the world know who you're voting for..
  6. Are you using the clutch??
  7. Took legal advice. They suggested waiting until its all built sonwe know the total cost, and to allow him to get other work so he has money in the bank, then sue his arse off. Hes got a law suit coming to ruin his summer
  8. Went in for service today. They didnt comment on the pads but it was due a brake fluid change so now my brakes are now much sharper.
  9. People move out my way pretty sharpish, not sure why. I think maybe they see a black bike with rider all in black with black visor looming up behind pretty quickly and their first instinct seems to pull out the way, even if they dont need to. I always wave to say thanks
  10. Won't they replace them during its service? they will try to charge me a fortune to replace them yes... or i can order them and do them myself and save about a million quid in labour charges.
  11. its actually very simple. So long as you can cut the wood to accurate lengths, its easy - just like Lego. A bike shed would be easier to build as it doesnt need a floor, and could have a single pitched roof sloping back - no need for an apex roof.
  12. Thanks guys, its great fun, and ive got an excellent suntan from being out in the garden.. Not sure what you mean (im not a builder!) I just screwed the collars to the sides of the rafters. it made it easer to lift the rafters into place. i got all eight rafters in, then fitted the ridge beam and screwed it all together. put the level on top and surprisingly it was dead level!
  13. I was just giving my bike the once over before taking it in for its service tomorrow. Checked the front brake and noticed this! yes, its ingested a plastic bag.... fortunately it was easy to sort out, just released the spring clips and pulled out the bag. Think id better order some new pads... they didnt last long
  14. One of those at the east end of the runway at Heathrow. Look on Google maps.
  15. If the factory alarm is anything like on my BMW, its just a plug in module. The wiring is already there. Might be worth investigating a cheap factory alarm from eBay?
  16. So long as you only use the amount of brake for the available grip, you can brake anywhere you like.
  17. Be a bit careful of boot laces. Hiking boots tend to have big laces. Easy for them to get tangled in the foot pegs or gear/brake levers and you'll feel a right muppet for toppling over with your feet tied to the pegs.
  18. Yes I thought so, but everywhere I read it says 250/300 are good starter bikes. Most people also say that within 12months I will end up wanting something bigger, but it's good for the experience. dont do it!! if you have a full licence, dont buy a 250/300, you will get so bored of it so quickly. unless you want to throw money away trading up to a bigger bike in 3 months, buy the bike you see yourself riding in a year, something you can grow into, not the bike you think you should be riding now..
  19. On the right is how the camera is supposed to mounted - horizontally, but that looks stupid sticking out of the side of a helmet. So i opened one up, chopped it about a bit, and rotated the lens 90 degrees so that i can mount the camera vertically to the side of my helmet: What i have now is a nice small, inconspicuous camera that doesnt stick out too far - not like the riders you see with a bloody great gopro sticking out the side of their helmets!
  20. Today i found time to screw on the roof and start to clad with shiplap. I had to buy 86 linear meters of shiplap...
  21. Joeman, I'm going to ask a dumbass question now but why do they have to be mounted horizontally ? I'll take a picture for you...
  22. Haha awesome, cheers moo! I dont look like a pre-pubesant dragon with stumpy little red training wings...

    Deposit paid

    Ya, das ist gut.
  24. Just noticed this thread!! Yes is a mobius action cam. The mount is stuck to the lower side faring with 3m sticky pads. Impretty impressed with these little cameras. The downside is that they need to be mounted horizontally, but ive modified a spare to turn the lens 90degrees to mount it vertically as a helmet cam. I'll upload some pics at some point. I think it might be the ultimate budget helmet cam!!
