  1. TomTom software is available on android. Free for first 50miles of navigation per day.
  2. Most immobilisers work by having a transponder in the key or on a key fob. If you can start your bike remotely with the key not close to the bike, you have no immobiliser.
  3. You're brave hacking the wiring of a brand new Chinese bike! First electrical problem you get, the shop will blame your wiring.. I would at least wait until its a few months old before chopping it about. Also, remote start must mean there is no immobiliser, and unless it detects neutral you could easily have it jump off its stand if you try to start it in gear.
  4. exactly. and the jobless eastern european women are way hotter than their uk equivalent. you rarely see a fat ugly european bird. how some of the ugly uk benefit scroungers manage to reproduce is beyond me! maybe they have nice personalities...
  5. was planning to use 12mm ply as its a bit cheaper than 18mm and those rafters are c16 stud work so pretty sturdy. been trying to source some wooden shingles but they all seem too expensive at about 40quid per square meter. the felt shingles were the backup option. alternative was to do a proper tiling job with felt underneath but that might be a bit overkill, and full size tiles might look wrong on a small house. would you be able to suggest any cheap suppliers? other things i need are small guttering and maybe some ready made shutters to save me making them.
  6. Yes sheds can be bought pretty cheaply, but they dont look like they are built to last. I reckon you could build a pretty sturdy bike shed for less than 150quid.
  7. Ive made it big enough just in case
  8. Thanks! Bit of both really. The missus bought a book of playhouse designs which included some crude plans. The plans aren't great and its an american book so all measurements are in feet and inches. So I've used the plans from the book as a basis and changed all the measurements to metric and scaled the deaign up/down to better fit the lengths of timber I can buy to reduce wastage. For example the rafters are 1.2m long - exaclty half of the 2.4m studwork. I think in america wood must be a lot cheaper, the book suggests building the whole thing from cedar wood. That would cost a fortune in the uk!
  9. LOL, she calmed down in the end... but yes, this should certainly have bought me some biking time!
  10. Nothing to do with bikes, but thought some of the DIY fans might be interested. Its hopefully going to look like this when its done:
  11. Top quality pics moo! i look good in miniature Didnt realise i had my air vents open in the back of my jacket - the red spoils my steal look haha
  12. Broken Britain..
  13. They look great fun! 20bhp from a 50cc bike is crazy.
  14. Of course tyres are designed to work as a pair, but they are not bike specific and we dont just ride based on the grip of the front or rear, we ride based on the combined grip and feel of both tyres. Also tyres are a compromise between grip levels and wear rates. Who's to say (for example) fitting a soft compound tyre from one manufactures on the front and a hard compound from another manufacturer to the rear won't actually provide a better balance for your riding style? I'd love to do a blind test and see if people could actually notice they were riding on mis matched tyres. On the road I doubt they could unless they were radically different tyres. Other factors such as tyre pressure suspension setup and bike geometry would play much larger factors in the feel of the bike than mismatched tyres. Edit: but I keep mine matched as mismatched tyres look crap!
  15. Just curious what do you guys always take with you on a ride? puncture kit? waterproofs? tools? what else...
  16. Hit the coppers kill switch?? Awesome idea...
  17. Is that your opinion or fact? For the average rider who's not constantly banked over with their knee down on the limit of grip, I'd say its pretty much fact. Mismatched tyres are no worse than a squared off rear and a triangle shaped front that many ride about on.
  18. Sounds like you're getting your biking mojo back fozzie!! You would have loved the ride home. Phil Nic and myself carving up the twisties. My fork-cam was running for the whole ride so ive got some great footage. You can hear the engine screaming and see the forks go between full extension and fully compressed... And thats with the forks setup pretty stiff.. That should wake the mojo some more
  19. Problem I find with moulded plugs is that if they move very slightly the seal breaks and all the noise comes in. I much prefer the spongy ones when installed correctly. Sometimes takes a couple of attempts but once there are in, everything is peaceful.
  20. The cheap foam ones are great. Screw them into a sausasge shape, suck them to make them wet and poke them into your ears as deep as you can, and let them expand to fill your earhole! If you open your mouth wide they go deeper into your ears.
  21. No worries - didnt sound like an arse at all. But ear plugs will make things quieter with you still able to hear the bike. Music will drown everything out. Personally I ride with in ear headphones that block out most sound but with music at half volume I can still hear the bike.
  22. First annual TMBF oompa lumpa convention
  23. Ear PLUGS not ear PHONES! You should be using ear plugs to block out the ear damaging noise. With proper plugs in, you will still be able to hear the bike.
  24. Send it away to be acid bathed.
  25. Thats what the choke is for!! Use i t when starting and once running take it off choke.. What's wrong with that?? When you're licenced to ride legally and you go for long enough rides to get it warm, you shouldn't need the choke to start a warmed up engine.
