  1. If it rains, I'll take you up in the car lol.
  2. Just make sure you put a fuse close to the battery. If the cable shorts on the bulkhead and you dont have a fuse, you will have a fire!!
  3. I remember when you first joined and were looking for a 125. So glad you're enjoying your bike. It would certainly be my bike of choice if I was still on L-plates.
  4. Errrm, it's all about the 'barm cakes' apparently....f*cking BARM CAKES! IT'S A BREAD ROLL GODDAMNIT! ...count me in in a year or 2 when I get a full license and a proper bike! Hitch a lift on the back of fozzies.. No excuses! Lol
  5. And all be wearing flat caps on top of their helmets..
  6. Support the high street shops. If nobody buys from them, they will soon go out of business. If you're buying a load of gear, most places will give you a discount if you ask as they know you could just as easy walk out the shop and buy online. there is no substitute for customer service and paying a little extra to have someone helpy you chose and being able to take the items away the same day is well worth it in my opinion.
  7. I agree with Fro. Road helmets and track helmets have two very different criteria. Road helmet needs to be comfortable and quiet and look cool which is why they cost so much. Track helmet just needs to be safe, and since pretty much all helmets conform to the same safety standards, i'b be tempted to have a cheap, functional helmet for the track and keep my best helmet for the road.
  8. if youre happy with the helmet, keep it and buy a sticker. Gold ACU means very little. To keep costs down, its probably been shipped in from a country where they dont have ACU stickers.
  9. This might be useful: https://skippy.org.uk/wp-content/upload ... manual.pdf Page 6-19
  10. Spend 15quid on the Haynes manual, read it and see if you can figure it out yourself. Fork swap is pretty simple job.
  11. Its a lot simpler on a bike. Only one wheel to align and normally there are markers each side to help you line it up. Easy DIY job that all bikers should learn to do themselves as setting chain tension and wheel alignment is a common maintenance task.
  12. any pics? NSR's were great bikes back in the day...
  13. My bike's never been that far north!! but looks a good ride. count me in...
  14. yep, loads of bikes! i filmed this last year: "> ">
  15. What did the shop assistant suggest? Maybe they have another brand that fits your body shape better?? If not, go for comfort. Restrictive jacket could cause the accident you wear it to protect you from!
  16. Look for kevlar gloves. Kevlar offers the abrasion resistance you need.. http://www.motoport.com/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=15
  17. you sometimes have to butcher oil filters to get them off. stab them with a big screwdriver and wrench them round.
  18. I was chatting about cheap Chinese lever the other day. My worst nightmare would be if you needed to pull on the brakes pretty quick to avoid an impact, and the cheap Chinese cheese metal gave way, and the brake lever snapped off in your hand...
  19. Lol, I work in London and i've had fund managers in global asset management companies, responsible for billions of pounds worth of peoples investments do exactly that. so shes not alone.
  20. If you think you're legal, then you'd best find a reference to the laws on the UK.gov website that make it legal for you to ride without a CBT. If you are not legal, then if you have an accident and the insurance companies look into it, they will use any excuse they can to pin the blame on you and not payout for any damages. Then you get arrested and charged with riding a bike without a licence and for riding without insurance as not having a licence invalidates your insurance policy. you then get banned from driving your car and your bike, you get a big fine and loads of points on your licence when you eventually get it back... and insurance prices for you car and bike will go up about 10000%! best find some confirmation you're legal...
  21. Are you sure you dont need to have done a CBT to be riding a 125cc bike? Thought the exclusion for pre 2001 car drivers was only for mopeds (maximum engine size 50cc) Edit: https://www.gov.uk/cbt-compulsory-basic ... g/overview I think first step is a CBT!!

    misfire and high rpm

valves cocked up with carbon deposits?? ignition timing slipped??
  23. I think thier tactic was to get right up close so I couldn't see it was a police car expecting me to boot it off at high speed... Ive had them do it before but many years ago when I was a "boy racer" in my suped up Pug GTi. Well tough poo poo copper, some of us have rear view mirrors and know how to use. Hampshire constabulary at their finest. Next time they will be picking the remains of their headlights and front grill up off the road. I'm due for a new car

    misfire and high rpm

unfortunately my carb is chokeless mate... my bike starts first click, no matter what the weather, without a choke.. fuelling at statup and at full RPM are very different. it may be fine at startup, but too lean/rich at high RPM.
