  1. I reckon the needle has turned on the shaft. If you could stop the needle as it passes zero, you might be able to fix it. Maybe drill a small hole in the side of the speedo, poke in a bit of wire, rev the bike until it hits Zero, and catch the needle with the wire. Hopefully the shaft will turn, and the needle stay still.
  2. Lucky this guy was wearing his gloves... Even with gloves he loses skin from his fingers imagine the state of his hands if he had not been wearing gloves (crash starts @1:02)
  3. Ooh, you're AngryJoeMan on YouTube! Good response by the way. I watched a video where it proved pivot steering didn't work after the accident. Should have done my research! yep, thats me! I need to upload some more vids of me on my Gixxer (When im not getting attacked by Squirrels!) I might upload one to show that Pivot steering and steering with your feet is a complete myth in response to the morons who reckon it works..
  4. So even though the GSXR has a projector headlight as standard, because the factory projector is designed for Halogen bulb, to install a HID Burner would be illegal. This means the only legal way to upgrade a bike with factory fitted Halogen Projectors is to replace the factory projector with a HID projector.
  5. Go find an empty car park and practice your turns. listen to the great advice everyone has already said. One thing i remember practicing many years ago was turning the bike on full lock. its a bit tricky to start with but it trains you to balance the steering with the throttle and brake. essential skill if you ever get a sports bike with limited turning circle.
  6. Some of the boys on the Gixxer forum are fitting a projector headlight from a BMW E46 (3 series). They are not installing the "Burner" into the factory fitted GSXR headlight, but replacing the whole unit with the BMW projector. Are they breaking the law?
  7. well done!!! now what bike you gonna buy as a reward??
  8. Never trust an American to teach you how to go round a corner - they dont have corners in America!! Countersteering is the only way to make a bike turn - you cant change the laws of physics!!!
  9. I believe she was pulling the clutch in whilst cornering.. It's hardly the YouTube posters fault that she came off, we are all responsible for our own riding! That said, I hope you get fixed soon BMFM Of course, but some negative comments on his 'instructional' video might prevent others from making the same mistake... Although, I am quite tempted to go and try pulling the clutch whilst cornering just to see what its like!!
  10. All depends what im doing.. I shoot a rifle left handed, but can also shoot equally well right handed. I play a guitar left handed, I write (very badly) right handed, and eat my dinner left handed (cutlery in the wrong hands) so lots of things i do left handed, and some i do either way round. However, I've never tried wiping my arse left handed, but live in eternal fear that if i ever broke my right arm i would end up in a real mess trying to use my left arm!!
  11. Sorry to hear you're still not fixed :( So what crazy new cornering technique were you trying when you came off?? hope you went back and left nasty comments on the YouTube video!!
  12. can you hear the buzzer over the engine noise and with a snug fitting helmet?? that got to be a loud buzzer - pedestrians are going to point and laugh!! just add cancelling the indicator into your routine and press it a few times to be sure!!
  13. I think I LIKE you Mr Barry! Since when has deliberately blinding oncoming drivers been a good idea??? it just takes a quick flash to let people know they forgot to dip their lights...
  14. probably set too low to blind a motorcyclist though
  15. don't think hes talking about general tools like screwdrivers, sockets etc. Often there are special bike/car specific tools that the dealer would have, but would cost a fortune to buy just for one job. Haynes show how to make your own tool to accomplish the same task.
  16. Looks great on the Bussa!! My Gixxer headlight is useless, so this could be a nice winter project for me
  17. steering with your feet is a myth as you say But loading the pegs does work but not to actually steer the bike you need to move the bars too just loading a peg will not make it steer but it lowers your center of gravity making the bike turn tighter and easier to turn as you say the only way to make a bike turn is to counter steer I've heard some people say they don't do it before anything over around 15 - 20mph requires it you do it without even thinking about it Yep totally agree!! And its always fascinated me how we instinctively know when to turn towards the turn (at low speeds) or turn away from the turn (counter steering) at high speeds....
  18. Back from my hols, this is not mine, but i saw it in France a couple of days ago... Someone is using this as a daily ride!!
  19.  Lol, its about 22degrees here, shorts, t-shirt and cold beer weather.. Guessing not the same back home Seen some interesting bikes here and some very serious boats! Cant upload from the phone, but will share some pics when Im home...
  20. Still not had a chance to try it out! Im away in the south of France at the moment. Hoping weather in the UK will be good enough when Im back to give it a try finally!!
  21. Google Search "AGV s4 wind noise" Seems there are quite a few people complaining about wind noise from this lid... shame as it does look very cool.
  22. Not necessarily true... GP riders and Super Moto riders use the clutch to control rear wheel speed to allow them to drift the back end out on the entry to corners. If you haven't matched the engine revs to road speed, you're much safer letting the clutch out gently to avoid rear wheel locking than just kicking it down and risking a rear wheel slide, especially if you're still leaning over, but braking whilst still leaning over is a whole other debate
  23. You're making the assumption that braking with your engine causes excessive wear, and I don't think that's true. If you're locking up the wheels through engine braking then you're not doing it properly. youre more likley to wear the clutch when engine braking, than ruin the engine.. if you find youself dragging the clutch as you change down gears, youre doing more harm than good.
  24. Steering with your feet is a complete myth. You can load the pegs as much as you like and it will hardly move the bike at all. Try it, stand up and lift one leg so all your weight is on one foot peg, the bike will gently drift off line, but wont make a radical direction change. The only way to make a bike change direction is to counter steer… Look on youTube for the “Cornering Bible”
  25. There has to be a tank breather somewhere - as the fuel comes out, air needs to go in to replace it, else you form a vacuum.. could be the problem!
