    Engine gasket ??

the op has the 50cc engine not the 123cc would they be the same ? No idea, but every two-stroke bike i've split open had a gasket there.. i didn't always put one back though - instant gasket is wonderful stuff when you cant get the gasket you need in a hurry!
  2. canbus systems are a friging nightmare! good job 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999% of bikes don't have them! Yet I was gonna install the LED indicators from the HP4 until I read the bike would need re-coding by BMW. Sod that, might as well buy an hp4 the prices they charge for labour Lol (Still might, but use some clever trickery to fool the bike into thinking its still got bulbs.. Experiments needed)

    Engine gasket ??

The rotax 123 engine from the old aprilia 125 bikes had a gasket there.. But silicone will do.. Just don't use too much and bung the engine up!
  4. It's also got an ignition kill feature. Send the right text message and it triggers a relay. No reason that relay couldn't set off a small explosive charge under the fuel tank
  5. Similar idea to the one I use. Look up TLT2 trackers on ebay. About 30quid and do all the same but they do a waterproof one specifically for bikes. That's the one I've got. It's a nice gadget to have.
  6. Totally. Also on modern bikes you need to be careful about taking extra power off some circuits as it can upset the computer. For example my BMW can get funny about taking a feed from the lights as it can make it think a bulb has blown and produce a warning on the dash. But I've taken a low current feed from the rear light to activate a small 15amp relay and included a diode for back emf protection. This switches a high current feed direct from the battery for my usb charger and tracker's ignition sense and anything else I might wire up in the future (upto relay's Max load of 15amps). Tail light is a convenient switched circuit as the wiring is easily accessible in the tail unit and can be taped into with a scotch block and easily removed when selling the bike.
  7. I've not told my insurance company about my tracker. I got it more becaue its a cool gadget than becaue I think my bike will get stolen. Bike theft in my area is very low and my garage is pretty secure so the chances of it going missing whilst at home are slim. But when i park it up, a quick text will arm the tracker so any movement will alert me. Handy feature. Also it texts me to tell me the battery is dying and time to charge it up! Also because I'm an IT geek, I activated the real-time date feed, wrote some code that runs on a cloud hosted server, and whilst the bike is moving it logs real-time speed and position data to my server for viewing after the ride on Google maps. As I've mentioned before, i was considering opening it up to the public. It's good fun to see your ride on Google maps!
  8. Yep, if the charger doesn't shut its self off (some do) then a single relay is easy to do. Two leads to the battery and one to the tail light to activate the relay (assuming your lights are on all the time the bike is running) Three wires, easy peasy!
  9. Yes the pros can block the signal but the average scrote who nicks bikes for beer money won't. You'll never stop the pro thieves. My cheap ebay tracker will alert me when the bike moves, and will continue to send its last known location, so even wih a jammer it just needs a small window of time to shout out its location. What's also nice is that rather than walking to the garage to see if its still there, I can send a message and my bike replies. Kind of sad haha.
  10. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-DTR125-D ... nav=SEARCH Loads on ebay.. They also do some twin bulb lights that might be cool.
  11. Grip heaters are a must. Maplins used to sell heated vests. Never tried one.
  12. Eat more pies!! Pile on some blubber to keep you warm
  13. A man goes to a fancy dress party wearing nothing but a naked lady on his back.. "What the hell are you supposed to be, then?" the host asks. "I'm a turtle," the man replies. "What a pile of shite!" the host replies. "How can you be a turtle when all you've got is that naked woman on your back?" "Oh her?" the man smiles. "That's just Michelle!"
  14. If not interested in staying original, take a look at DT125 parts.
  15. Who needs mirrors?? No RD-125 I ever saw in my youth had mirrors!!
  16. Trick is not to search for your exact plate. Just search on a few characters. Sites like regtransfers or plates4less are good places to start. Also DVLA site let's you search. I bought mine from eBay late one night.. Bit of an impulse purchase tbh.
  17. The good Samaritan laws are there to protect firstaiders http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/557888 ... being-sued So if you see someone in trouble, get stuck in and try to help if you can without harming yourself (too badly) without fear of being sued. The bike safe guys said to me, if you find a motorcyclists on the road, not breathing, its better to get his helmet off and risk a neck injury than have him choke on his tounge/vomit. Infact its nearly always the right thing to do to take the helmet off (contary to popular belief) Also when giving CPR, don't worry if you break the persons ribs - they will heal! Better to have broken ribs and be alive than dead with perfect ribs.
  18. And you won't be allowed to put it on a tzr either. You can't make a vehicle look newer than it really is.
  19. Crazy.. Not sure I could drive past a burning car with no emergency services in attendance without taking a look to see if I could help and I would hope fellow road users would do the same.. Sad times we live in where people are too busy to help. When I did the Kent firebike course at brands hatch, we were told not to worry about legal action as in the uk if you are genuinely trying to assist someone you can't be held responsible if you make things worse. The good Samaritan law..
  20. Got to be a case for breach of contract or something surely? Still on the bright side, now you've ramped up capacity you can take on more projects. Get the sales guys out there asap to win some more business.
  21. Sorry to hear this mate, but sadly not surprised. There are some real scumbags about down that area of southampton.
  22. I thought it was just a noisy, glorified house heater Petrolheads animal dryer??
  23. Cooking?? Is that what that room with the hot oven thing is for?? Who knew!!?
  24. Who they selling to?? Contact the buyer and offer them a great deal on the same work for £750k
  25. Haha exactly!! The bike only comes out when I'm in the mood for some spirited fun My plate begins with my name (JOE) spelt correctly - no dodgy screws or tape! I think it will look cool, but I know many people think they look pretentious. Having said that, I've had it on my cars for the last 12 years and its never bothered me.. So not sure why I'm hesitant to put it on my bike..
