  1. They would struggle to change the details on the V5, and that's what your tax is based on. So regardless of if your manufacturer cheated on the test, your car is unlikely to have its taxation group changed.
  2. Then there would be a huge incentive to bring back Woolley mammoths!! Hair for the power stations and mammoth meat for the BBQ.
  3. If you have a bike to practice on, go and practice riding around in circles. Start big and slowly reduce them down to as tight as possible. After a few laps you'll get the hang of it.
  4. Nuclear power is by far the cleanest and safest form of power, but since everyone is scared of it, no government would ever push it forward. We could all be driving electric cars powered from the road (like bumper cars) if our powergrids were powered by nuclear.
  5. Open a spread betting account and make money on the price fall. then when the dust has settled, bet on the price rise... Easy money
  6. I think they should just say "sorry, your emissions limits are unachievable, so we're not going to sell cars in Europe or USA anymore." Then watch the German government panic as they foresee thier GDP take a nosedive and Germany flung into recession.
  7. Yep, I try to be the fastest moving object rather than the slowest to avoid some half asleep idiot ramming me from behind. Anything less than the speed limit and you're in danger of getting shunted.
  8. Yep, and hand crank it a few times to make sure the vales don't hit the piston!
  9. Studies have shown that occasional games console use keeps the older brain active and reduces the chance of Alzheimers... Maybe not a bad idea to give one a try ;)
  10. Coincidence that deisel prices fell below petrol prices for the first time in many years, and then this comes to light???
  11. Have tried this, sometimes it bumpstarts but if not enough speed or wet roads the rear wheel just locks up instead which isnt fun. Stick to the clutchless downshifts then. No chance of a stall then.
  12. looks like lift off oversteer - went into the bend, and bottled it mid way round causing the rear to step out of line... of course, you know what would have saved him???
  13. Dunno, but a clutchless downshift would prevent it stalling between gears. Or just let the clutch out an bumpstart it - no need for the starter button.
  14. little boys in big cars....
  15. Oh, absolutely I was in the wrong gear. There was no gradient sign at the bottom (yet there was at the top) so I was taken by surprise. Now I downshift at the first sign of losing power and it has not happened since. But that experience of how easily all power was cancelled out scared me off want to risk disengaging the engine at low speeds when I at least have some. But a downshift takes less than a tenth of a second. You really won't grind to a halt. Making a bike struggle along in a gear that's too high is just cruel. Kick it down a gear or two!!
  16. Same here. Seems odd they would exclude the majority of the biking community..
  17. Arrived safely today. My wallet feels complete again
  18. Get one of these https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... oduct=9335
  19. Go find the steepest hill you can find and then try to ride up it in first gear. Any properly running bike will be able to climb any hill you find on UK roads. If you ground to a halt, you either have a sick bike or you were in the wrong gear.
  20. All things employers use to keep salaries low and make workers feel secure in their jobs..
  21. ok, no worries - cheers!
  22. Excellent, cheers. I've got some shopping to do
