  1. couple of days ago, i got my KTM out from hibernation. its not been started for over a year. its got a plastic tank, rubber fuel lines and little fuel tap with rubber seals inside. All i did was remove the spark plug, squirted in some WD40 to lube the bores a little, hand cranked it a couple of times, replace the spark plug, turned on the fuel tap, pulled the choke and it started second kick and ran sweet as the day it went into hibernation. So thats a 10 year old bike with a highly tuned two stroke racing engine with premixed petrol that's been in the plastic petrol tank and in the carb float bowl, for over a year without leaking out, starting second kick on stale fuel... how do you explain that??
  2. Are you buying cheap Chinese pipe? Nobody else replaces fuel pipes as often as you do. If all fuel pipes failed after just three years, the majority of road users would be changing fuel pipes on a regular basis! But they are not, so yours seems a uniqure experience.
  3. Mirrors - also known as "pig spotters" as that's their primary use..
  4. Other option would be to remove foam from the seat. That might lover it a bit. What's the bike anyway? Is it green by any chance??

did you fancy her and she blew you out or something?? or were you on Blind Date and she stitched you up with a minger?? why all the anti-cilla talk??
  6. My Granny always said, "if you can't afford to buy two of them, dont buy one" She stuck pretty well to that philosophy, and its something i try to do also.
  7. Ive always had a soft spot for the DT's.. looking good
  8. Nice now you need a bayonet fitting on the filler cap to stop you pouring oil all over the place!
  9. Haha, Mr Fro. Repeat the experiments but this time throw in some real ale and beard trimmings. Maybe thats the key!
  10. Anyone remember Mr Motivator? He wore one.... That's the image that springs to mind when someone says "bum bag" or "fanny pack" as they are known in the states...
  11. and im still running my lawnmower on fuel that's nearly two years old...
  12. I doubt you have any livestock to protect, and just because you live in the country it doesn't mean you need to go out shooting the wildlife. So, what exactly are you planning to shoot, cats by any chance?
  13. Worth a read.. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/30 ... sers_mail/ http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/28 ... _conflict/
  14. I the tabloid press were to get hold of this, they would have a field day!! Broken Britain just gets more broken everyday....
  15. Ive got Amazon Prime witht the Amazon Fire TV stick - its actually pretty good so looking forward to TopGear (or what ever it will be called) coming on... Interesting times. when talking about moving from BBC to Amazon, i think May said it was like "climbing out of a Biplane and into a space ship" Just shows how backwards and outdated the BBC really is.
  16. NO NO NO!! The day i cant get my essentials in my pockets is the day i buy a handbag.
  17. you're brave rolling it out before the first service pack!!
  18. Totally agree... but so many kids are dumped into nursery 5 days a week from a very early age. The transition from home to nursery is too sudden and i think thats why you get the meltdowns. Certainly thats been the case with the majority of our NCT bunch. the pressure for mums to return to work is too great IMO. The Montessori way is to start them at two mornings per week when they are two, and then gradually build them up to 5 days a week so that the transition from home to pre-shool is not sudden and equally the transition from pre-school to primary school is not a big deal.
  19. I thought this was a motorbike forum not MumsNet Kids are complex creatures. we are lucky with ours, shes two and a half and very easy going. she doesnt have "meltdowns" like many of the kids in our NCT group seem to have. But kids are all different, and i dont think you can start assuming they have mental issues just because they cry at night - its more likely hunger, or too much sugar in the crappy kids food everyone seems to feed children... But there seems to be a link with nursery. All the parents in our NCT group reported that as soon as their kids started going to nursery they turned into little horrors. kind of makes sense really, they go from one-to-one care with mum, to being in a room full of kids competing for the nursery workers attention. My child doesnt go to nursery, she goes to a montessori pre-school for two mornings per week. in our view she's too young to be away from parents any longer than that. Also, you need to wear them out. I see so many two/three/four year olds being pushed about in buggies!! WHY?? they have legs, let them walk, why push them about?? how are they ever going to get worn out if they are not allowed to even walk, and if they are not worn out they will not sleep!! buggies are evil. Then we have beeping plastic toys, ipads,TV's etc etc and all the other electronic junk parents are pushing their kids to "play" with... none of it is good for the developing brain and it teaches them nothing. I'll stop there i think, but i could rant for ages on the subject.. lol

    Wales

I went camping in Wales a couple of weeks ago. Stayed in Hill End campsite on the Gower peninsular. Some fantastic scenery around that part of the world.
  23. Only 15 quid, so doesnt matter if you dont smoke them
  24. thats why you are never really an "ex-smoker" you're just someone who's not had one for a while... (ive never smoked or intend to, so I dont really know what im talking about)
  25. If a Ducati 1299 came up, that's about £340 per ticket - and youre not a gambling man!?? LOL If it all works and nobody tries to rip anyone off, it a nice bit of fun, just very expensive if you try a few times and not win. Easy way to make some cash too. Buy a bike for 60quid, and you already know there are at least 48 other people out there prepared to buy it, so put it right back on the site and sell it for full price! Ca-Ching! Shame its only on Facebook.. i dont do facebook, otherwise i'd be tempted to have a punt.
