Benelli TNT Millage Check! Need second opinion!
RideWithStyles replied to Dapplefrost's topic in Motorbike Chat
Yeah id agree its 1225.3 , the 3 is gapped further away from the 5. yes it seems very weathered jist from the pic, bolts grubby, wearing around the handle bar clamps, heavy wearing of paint on the handle bar brace. Its a year old or less....How heavy weathered is the exhaust?? Have you found out which exhaust fits this and how much? you will need to tell the insurance... they maybe (premium rise) or not be bothered.. -

Ducati Scramlber on Track - Dumb Idea?
RideWithStyles replied to Bologna998's topic in Motorbike Chat
Id say not dumb, would be fun for the average road rider. Defo better on smaller tracks like cadwell rather than snet or silvers. -
MV Agusta Brutale 800 - Reliable?
RideWithStyles replied to Interference Fit's topic in Motorbike Chat
I nearly pulled the pin on a mv... just depends on if you are devoted and bigger pockets for it? The other thing is quite a few dealers and shops wont buy mvs, so pxs are a more restrictive than most other brands. sounds silly but most of the time agood independent is better than the dealers to service and fix the bikes, dealrs are better for the oddities parts. one thing they share with ducatis and italian stuff to keep them at their best thats strange at first but to use them really often, they dont like being sat round in a garage for long and develop problems. like fine women, fine and dandy on the happy and pampered but misunderstanding and get moody if they feel being neglected! Agree with interfence fit's comment! -
Cool, tall bikes - inspiration needed
RideWithStyles replied to Interference Fit's topic in Motorbike Chat
The duc is a very tall bike im roughly average hight and i found it really uncomfortable tall so u being 6,4 its good place to start out of the box as the bike is. the bars are very good for you, if id adjust them it would be to cant them upward a couple of mm up just to rid of the knuckles being high. Good straight back and not too spread out blades. the leg room is great but its a very narrow So ull be trying to support yourself with ur knees but due to the very narrow tank ull diggin more which will be closer together than your feet (old school look of closing your legss needing a wee) than your feet Which splices out your heels slightly so you may find this pressure on the inside knees unless ud like to do leg out moto style. Also ur groin is goona be alot closer (sliding onto) to being ontop of the tank under heavy brakes whuch some people dont ket on with... The ktm is more like the honda fir the legs but much better for fit than if not the best...but just to be better either tilt the bars up or slight raise a few mm. If you can't adjust the levers further out ull may need them further away. -
If the bike is running fine with your current setup of the paper/fibre old filter and you buy the road version of the cotton filter you dont have to be worried about rejetting the bike. Only thing is to not over oil the gauze. Low level race versions are just a lower weight (thinner) with slightly higher gauge (bigger gaps) cotton, higher level race ones are even lighter see the gauge get bigger again. So more air flow but bigger particles of debris will enter the engine. if this is a road bike for road use keep to it as u can use it however u want and clean it as as often as ud replace the std filter. race ones need washing every hundred or hundreds of miles NOT thousands, very gently and will be luckly it it lasts the time of the bike unlike the road versions.

Cool, tall bikes - inspiration needed
RideWithStyles replied to Interference Fit's topic in Motorbike Chat
Hope u dont mind but Just note on the pics for fit: the honda is going to be very wristy (biased on the outside palm) as its too angle like an arrow unless you buy a different handle bar thats less angles and higher up! the bike has your body tilted very slightly forward more closer to a super bike fit than the triumph.Leg angle is good but higher up compared to the tri , maybe be some lowering pegs but need the rear brake lever lowered down. triumph is better for your rwrists as the bars are flatter but there is a lot more of a stretch to the bar so your shoulder blades are spreading outwards and back hunched alot so this will make ur shoulders and upper back ache first, u could do with the bars closer to you. the rear brake lever is good but your knee is lower down and cantered more forward pishing your lower hip forward too like advs. Unless you can adjust the brake lever you might want to look at some. -
Hi welcome! sorry but im too far away but if you as some big bike shops might help??
-
Sorry Steve it was ment to say BM not gs or other models allowed to pinpoint people these days. Oh dear old person. Every time i visit a bike shop there is always mechanic swearing at a bm while having its rear shaft or wheel bearing replace, just before the mechanic rapes the customer out of money for having them to work on the thing! Lol. Im actually surprised you haven't been bankrupt or beaten for having shaft drive bikes.... or have you???. You'd think there would be a BMWgate sufferer support line sometime . anyway good luck on the hunt.
-
Also to note youngys dont meet and talk with others outside in the real world.... itz done only on tictock and tinder
-
Dont worry Most other riders ignore the gs group, uve just not noticed . sorry but im in the boat where a gs is fair too rich. just buy a alu box panniers for what bike u get. The only other option is the f/gs800 or is it 900 now?? But your not compromising . Beyond this point honestly just stick with the gs you have now and be done with it .
-
Welcome and agree above. No harm in still researching just incase. an additive if your bike even doesn't like e5 dor some reason . better yet even look at finding where to get some new fuel pipes now just in case due to its age . They have character.

Add more one way valves to that kit, Oh and good pipe clampers!

2+ yr old TNT 125 vs 1 year old TNT 125 - Need advice!
RideWithStyles replied to Dapplefrost's topic in Motorbike Chat
Agree with goat and old on this one... my spider senses are tingling... yes take someone else with u to see but i would go with a CLOSED mind of NOT buying when viewing it to be honest, rather than open to buy it.... they'll always are many others some in better states. Not wishing to put u off it but just to let you know what will happen if tou buy certain bikes! a lot of garages wont want to work on the Chinese bikes so if tou cant fix it yourself you better find a garage nearby that will be prepared to work on it other than a dealer if they still one the next year first before committing to buy this bike. If you want to upgrade later many will not want to px or buy so yourreturn coup is harder to achieve... and thats from actual experience of ownership!! older jap bike would be better bet like a cbf125 that is a few years old, parts are plentiful and cheaper, everyone knows them so even if u come a cropper its soo easygoing. Plus even if it has abit of a usual wear and marks and u add another to it (even experienced riders do it actually 🫨)ur not gonna be nowhere near as annoyed or ashamed about being the first!! dont be concerned about mileage on bikes they're actually barely run it till about 9000miles, buy on background (service history and the persons demeanour) plus its condition!! -
I like the look and sound of the rs660 though my titinus will disagree if i bought one, to a point its a first step to the same direction its always been going. i was thinking more of the lines of 500s turbos as 1000 replacements and 250 turb or superchargers as 600 replacements sort of follow the car tech, it just that manufacturers are quite slow and lazy in away only do when pushed out of the nest. Agreed but to my point is just isn't one thing, it so many...racing reg, manufacturing, road license, world domestic legislation, peoples mind sets...
-
To see it another way... bikes have gotten so much better, faster, lighter and to narrow minded the the times but too much biased to the track ethos and racing regulations with less eyes to world legitimises that they no longer fit in the open world... its the chasing the racing that has harmed them hence the view of the r7 statements... see it this way, late 1990-2000s R1 was hovering the 200kg mark with 120hp roughly way seen as a game changer and animal... even mid 2010 600s were considered junk if they rolled out with specs like that. 1000s now 250+hp well under 200kg more than hyabusas and tuned race bikes... with prices to match. in a way i can see the 1000s soon dwindling some what even if they can keep the battery brigade at bay. need to think of starting a fresh again really, if the manufacturers actually put some decent effort and stuff on smaller classes like they have to 1000's it could really jump it again but the bike market is sooo slow to do owt or see the bigger picture.. Another is a big reset of peoples minds could 600s or even 500s become the 1000s of today with a different thought using turbos and superchargers but i see legitimates with be closing to fast as batteries are closing in. to use the car world, engines are soo much smaller and much more powerful than even 7 years ago! 1.5ltrs cars are quick and faster that 2.5s only a few years ago, even 1ltrs are more than enough these days where as if it was less than 2ltr u might aswell get the bus.. thats my many thoughts on it anyway.
-
Agree with the above... your gonna have to compromise on a good few things of (do i really need them???) Shaft drive is probably the biggest hurdle to be honest.. Luggage can be added to most bikes of that type... might not be a givi badge sob they are out there. Electrical crap can be added most of the time if you know what and who if tour not gonna do it yourself... Engine well with the words of spread across the rev range youve boxed yourself to a twin, parallel, twin or box... A goldwing?? Sounds more like a car or do you wanna fit a small trailer to the back of the bike?? Lol. Theres a reason why the gs is popular among its type, they have pigeon hole themselves iznto it.

New chain on relatively new sprockets
RideWithStyles replied to jrayfield21's topic in Motorbike Chat
If they are aluminium ones they will be worn, if steel ridden gently and kept on top of uve got a chance but Id agree with Bullfrog. old wear on the Sprockets would imprint early on chain and the chain will try to imprint on the sprockets as they try to seat there way into a space that has already done 8000...oldly think of it like old bus seats. If thinking of installing a different chain just for the hell of it for forty or so quid might aswell do the sprockets. If your just looking at the rear sprocket for wear guide, Don't. you need to look at the front aswell as it spins far faster, has contact with the chain a lot more often, has the direct force of the engine and pulling/flappin motion of the chain that little sprocket hidden away does.... -
Just for giggles of course: cling film them while they try to put themselves in the way and roll them away..keep them save from themselves and others. maybe people should paint the JSO protesters cars orange while they're out protesting and place orange coloured wheel clamps....would be easy in todays world to find out who they were if anyone was actually bothered about them... the pin drops.

Went to paigton in the southwest on holiday and visited the pier, it was over £18 for fish and chips!🫨

Im assuming its the toggle switch v6 or earlier you have which is quite old in its design now. The controller is connected to the rest of the harness through two white connectors, they look the same at first glance should be just a case of swapping them out, but why do you want to change it? It would of made more sense to just got the newer version on discount... The controller is alot better as it has many %, but it allows for more heat which the newer grips also designed for and to cope with. You can do it but id be wary of just wacking it on 100% for ages.

need help with my direct bikes 125cc cobra (someone reply please)
RideWithStyles replied to benbarra2005's topic in Newbies
Open it up if ur desperate, out of warranty but most important competent to do it ill add. On the headlight bulb, it might just be connection issues, if the bulb or connector block moved slightly from a bump it altered contact but when riding it over a bump again but it back into place.- 4 replies

RideWithStyles replied to benbarra2005's topic in Newbies
I was thinking the same thing as Bender, two filament in one bulb (one bulb does two jobs) does save space and especially cost but rarely better for it, honda 125cbf and many others including 600s has the same design. on the switch it could be the contact in the switch itself, if you use a electrical spray and give it a good spray to clean the inside. Best to to open it up carefully and give it a thorough clean and see it any the parts have become displaced.- 4 replies
