guybandit Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Well I did it, 1000 miles in 21 and a half hours. Don't know the total raised yet for the RBL but there was about 250 riders. I did the north route clockwise, so started at squires in Leeds then Manchester, fort William, Inverness, wick, John o groats, back to Inverness, down through Edinburgh, berrick and then back to squires. It rained all day apart from at John o groats. My bum is killing and my back, wrists and neck are sore. If I do this again might borrow something more comfortable. My knees are hurting most now and for a treat got a fitness test tomorrow 15kg 8mile tab in 2 hours. NICE. Gonna try and ride the bike on Wednesday see how my bum feels. I've got to say it's probably one of the hardest things I've done on the bike. Jack and I were pretty shot later on on the Sunday and we just had a lazy day. I can't believe how much I ache, my backside is ok it's the arms, legs and neck which aches. cruz Posted June 22, 2011 Share Posted June 22, 2011 A few stats, for those interested254 people entered including 21 pillion passengersBefore the start there were 11 cancellations (includes 2 pillions)We had 51 no-shows (7 more pillions)192 participants crossed the start line, that's 180 bikes because 12 of those had passengersDuring the event we had 8 that didn't come back; 4 had mechanical problems' 2 had punctures, 1 had a family problem and 1 accidentFrom the remaining 172 bikes, all less 4 came back in under 24 hoursThe 180 bikes that left used all 4 routes, but the north was definitely more popular than the south. 161 bikes went north, only 19 went south.
