I have a ME day on Sunday, weather is looking cracking, so I could,

A:Wash the car

B: Re-paint the front door

C : Gardening

D Take the bike out for some fresh air, as it appens, I seem to have found a couple of route options, Filey and Sea side no motorways route or Matlock, as I haven't been for a few years. or, I could do both and ask for forgiveness when ever I get back!!

I think we all know how this is going to play out.

Have a great weekend folks

Change of plan. All training cancelled so a day's prepping wasted. Mooring to Odudu Single Buoy Mooring instead for second half of cargo. All good as the quicker we finish here the quicker we get on to the next voyage.

The tree surgeon left the last six foot of the cursed sycamore tree sticking up above the back wall as it was riddled with barbed wire and he didn't want to ruin his chainsaw.

So when I got home from an unrelated allen key finding expedition I had to attack it first with the angle grinder to get the wire out of the tree. Then wreck my own chainsaw finishing the job. (Fortunately I had a spare chain). One last big tree trunk to go - probably in three pieces.

I hope you have an open fire/log burner....

Sadly not, but we have friends who will take the wood off our hands.

Survived the Wirral Egg Run!  Though I started off the run with a large group from Wallasey motorcycles, I was quickly separated from them due to suddenly becoming very brave and weaving in and out of traffic, filtering, and managing to be very lucky with some traffic lights.  Good job I knew the route off the top of my head anyway after inadvertently running it almost every day for the past few months.  Didn't need to know it though as it was very much a case of 'follow the bike in front of you'.

Though I was quite neglectful when it comes to taking pictures, several were taken of me and when they are uploaded elsewhere I'll cheekily steal them and pop them up here.

Considering doing the Bishop of Chester's charity ride in a couple of weeks time.  Will have to see how family commitments play out but given that I survived this one (and enjoyed it which is the most important bit) there is now nothing stopping me doing others.

Oh.  I also sat on a very nice, very shiny, very comfortable Harley.  Was chatting to a chap at the pre-ride meetup and mentioned that somewhere down the line, that was the type of bike I wanted as from what I understand they are very comfortable to ride, especially given my middle aged frame.  The chap asked whether I had ever sat on one, and when I said that I hadn't, he invited me to sit on his and try it on for size.  It was so comfortable!  Was like sitting in a well worn leather armchair.  Although I was mostly sure that style of bike was the one for me before hand, I'm now convinced.  A petrol powered leather armchair is the future for me!

And now;  Rest.  A great day!

@ChrisBiggsUK I was chatting with the Bishop a couple a days ago and numbers are nearing the maximum so if you want to join us register before too long.

It's not a huge ride as we need to keep it 125 friendly, but it ought to be fun.

So far we have donations to buy 2 and half bikes!

Next Sunday (13 April) there's a dry run for those acting as stewards.

You want to be very careful around Harley riders.

I didn’t lose anything on the way up. Moreover, I gained - having discovered that cruising at 65 added an extra 100 onto my range.

Site has alpacas just sitting about a bit and amazing views of the Peaks. It’s got eco toilets, struggled with them tbh. And it’s got a fvcking peacock that kicks off with its bollocks from the break of day. It’s £10 a night for bikers. Can recommend. https://www.avonaescapes.co.uk

Can also recommend checking your bedding before you go.

No, I’ve had a shit night, the wife, as the mattress wouldn’t hold air and the sleeping bag was broken.

Yes,” she replies, “the boy said the same.”

So, no sleep for me. Thanks, wife.

@Mawsley

A damn cold night for sleeping (it not) in a tent. Looking like a great place to stay though. The purple Harley looks awesome.
