Can anyone recommend a really loud horn? I've bought some snail horns which come as a twin(low and high note),not too keen so far firstly I got no room to fit both and if I did it's a bit hideous, looking for something compact which plugs straight on and scares the shit out of motorists where required 8-)

How about those air horn jobbies? The horn can be remote from the compressor so are pretty versatile with mounting.

The horns on my K1100LT are great - get a second hand set off ebay.

Stu them horns cost an arm and a leg man! Cheers for that zipster I have similar twin snail Horns but managed to put only one of em as I can't find a good place to mount the other one :-(

Pity - they're louder than my car horn and pretty neat too. Mine are mounted behind the headlight.

I read somewhere that bikes should have a single tone horn.

Did any of you (if any) who have dual tone horns have had any issues with MOT/police/insurance etc?

I'm thinking about some more powerful horns but single tone ones are pretty weak, so my eyes are on some dual tone horns.

In that case I'll have to install an alpine horn!
