Mr Fro Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 That pretty much seals the deal Ollie. Can I be in charge of speed limits and the intentionally unemployed please? I'd like to increase speeds on most motorways and major A-roads and issue advanced licenses to selected people which would allow them to go as fast as they like on said roads*.The intentionally unemployed would form a human crash barrier at the corners of more tricky roads.*fee and personality test will apply. Hmm, I already had plans to tackle obesity and voluntary unemployment in a single blow. It involves giant hamster wheels...Maybe we can use your idea as a way to tackle overcrowded prisons? Quote

Mr Fro Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 So - I'm assuming said hamster wheel is joined up to a massive generator to produce elastictrickery. That's the green vote sorted.Death race/suicide crash barriers - that'll please the Tories and general right wing.Who's left? The lefties and liberals - how to get them on side? Quote
NeilM Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I'm a card carryer but even I'm very mucu dissolutioned with how politics operates in this country at present. Don't get involved in any canvassing etc because basically I would be lying to people. Quote
RantMachine Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 I'm currently trying to decide just how disillusioned I am. My party pissed me off a great deal in the last election (which probably tells you who I support/supported) so I'm not sold on voting for them again. The fact that my MP did actually get in but proceeded to vote against the rest of the party on a large number of major issues is also a source of displeasure. Might give my vote to someone else this year. Was going to vote Green in a "why not give them a chance" kind of way, until they publicised their transport policies Now I'm just stuck on what to do. Quote
NeilM Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I think I made a bit of an error in the way I voted in our parties leader elections.I was expecting one thing and feel like I got something else.Time will tell. I no longer get excited about politics but after saying that if come the Thursday evening and the polls are saying that things are going the way I'd prefer, I'm pretty sure I will be down the town hall with the rest of them....lol Quote
Tankbag Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Looks like I can't give you false data Ollie Quote
OhJay Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I was expecting one thing and feel like I got something else. Isn't that true in every layer of elections? Promise the earth to get your vote and then do what they were going to anyway? Quote
Joeman Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Something ive never understood is why people are so secretive about who they vote for.If you feel strongly enough to vote you shouldnt be worried about letting the world know who you're voting for.. Quote
Fozzie Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Something ive never understood is why people are so secretive about who they vote for.If you feel strongly enough to vote you shouldnt be worried about letting the world know who you're voting for.. That's always got me too, people seem scared of what you will think of them as if it exposes a nerve.I voted tory last time as I hated the 13 years of labour. Not hard to say was it National debt has gone up, but the labour squad always miss out the detail that the rate of debt growth they set off has halved, which the tories spin as halving the deficit. The rest of the parties this year are weak, Lib dems had a good thing going in 2010 then bent over for the tories. UKIP got the Australian style immigration system right, but it's based on 1950's style thinking and a lot of their members are closet racists. Plus they'd scrap the green initiative, which I strongly think you're blind stupid if you think we don't need one. This year I haven't a clue who to vote for, and I almost don't care who gets in... So this makes me think I shouldn't bother voting. As either way I won't be happy! Quote
Glorian Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 As long as it aint the bloody greens.. No problem with recycling and the lot but some of their policies are just a bloody joke.Like others i don't know who i'm gonna vote for.. tbh i'll stick with the conservatives.. They don't appear to be f**king it up as much as labour has i guess.. Quote
RantMachine Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 I think that the Blair government did a stunning job of putting a huge portion of our generation off ever voting Labour. Quote
NeilM Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't care who knows who I vote for. I presently have a poster up in my front window....lolOn here tho I am aware that heated discussions surrounding politics is not the done thing. Therefore I've never stated who I vote for. Keep the red flag flying high..... Quote

It's just a mechanism to fool people in to believing they are something more than a mindless wage slave, shuffling along a conveyer belt of exploitation as they expend their labour, enriching a few worthless slave masters at the top.I ride a Kwak if that helps your research Quote
Throttled Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I did your survey and predict no correlation at all. Here is my view on the coming elections. Whatever party you vote for, their policies are entirely dependent on the massive debt burden we are under and how they plan to pay for the policy whilst dealing with the debt. Some parties want to continue to ignore the elephant in the room. Some propose austerity light. Others want to make large in roads into repaying the money.Vote to ignore the debt and you need to tell your kids why they will have to suffer austerity because we avoided it as much as possible. Vote austerity light and you need to tell your kids why they are still paying our debts. Vote to pay it off and you can tell your kids about what happened when we borrowed too much and austerity. My vote is not going to be party political. It is purely on dealing with the crisis that we pretend is not really there. We have convinced ourselves massive levels of borrowing are fine. We have coped much better than Greece. But Greece hardly paid any tax and borrowed pretty much all their public spending. We feel rich, but that us due to compensation coming from mis-selling that is running out. It has paid for all the new cars and extensions we see about the place (The Tories want to replace that money flow by letting pensioners do what ever they want with their pensions by getting rid of annuities). But the fact is the debt will restrict growth and how much we can spend on services. Quote
