Digzy Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 So, i bought a bandit a little while ago now. The clutch was slipping when i got it, so i decided to replace the clutch. It was brilliant, all fixed. Or so i thought.I replaced the clutch cable. but.... the fecking thing still slips. The clutch was all properly adjusted, I just don't get it. anyone have any suggestions? It only really does so under load. 8K RPM+It'll jump up to 11k and then stick there until the bike catches up to itself. Mr Fro Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Where did you get the replacement from? Was it a pukka jobbie or an e-bay special? Quote
Elgreco Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Could try changing the engine oil in case previous owner has used synthetic oil, which can cause clutch slip. Quote
RantMachine Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Or maybe the previous owner used car oil? Quote

Glorian Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 the clutches on these have to be adjusted spot on do you have any free play on the lever? did you replace the springs and the steel plates too? Can vouch for this.. Accidentally in my ignorance un adjusted the clutch completely and for the life of me could not get it right, Took it to mechanic who solved it in under 2 minutes and sent me on my way free of charge Quote
jedibiker Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Guna re ignite this as wanting to do mine, just seen ebc plates too but on ebay saw some ferodo. Im planning on doing springs too and if metal plates look shit will do them. Odd how mine also jumps from 8k in 3 or 4th gear. adjusting helped a little. Quote
husoi Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 I had this problem with my shadow. seafoam liquid mixed to the existing oil and a bit in petrol tank. did a few 100 miles then changed the oil to proper castrol one. Added seafoam and the problem was gone forever 1 Quote
