anthonyp Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Hi I was interested to find out if you indicate before a lifesaver or the other way around, thanks. Quote
Glorian Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Personally.I look in the mirrors constantly seeing what is going on. If traffic is quiet and i can i tend not to bother indicating and just lifesaver and go.If it's busy traffic. I always indicate and then always a lifesaver. But i usually have a good idea of where everyone is Quote
Hoggs Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I always indicate but it's pointless because my indicators are rubbish fixed Quote
Tiggie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Lifesaver is your last check before committing to the turn Quote
Glorian Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I always indicate but it's pointless because my indicators are rubbish fixed I was waiting for this Quote
Six30 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I always indicate but it's pointless because my indicators are rubbish fixed indicators shouting blinker blinker would be better Quote

Gin Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Ohhh this has actually made me think.. All I can hear is "Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvrer" .. I'm like Glorian, watching my mirrors a lot as a general riding habit, so it would be life saver then indicate for me.. If you indicate first you could cause a vehicle that's in the way to make some weird evasive move from panicking you're going to careen into the side of them.. Knowing my luck I'm wrong and you're meant to indicate then check! Tends to be all in one fluid motion for me Quote
JRH Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I tend to be using the mirrors all the time so it ismirror signal lifesaver manoeuvre for me Quote
Arwen Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I tended to do mirrors constantly as well. Thinking about it though I do tend to do a lifesaver before indicating as well as after. Quote
phil4 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I used to do them before signalling and then just before the move. Then my instructor corrected me and pointed out the the first one isn't a lifesaver, just observation, that the life saver is and only is just before you move. My current bike has shocking mirrors, so lots of observation needed.Sent from my phone. Quote

Hoggs Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I live in London. Indicating and looking are not required so we just wildly swerve around. Go round roundabouts anti clockwise, anything goes really. Quote
Six30 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 fixed indicators shouting blinker blinker would be better I'll have you know I stick my arm out I thought you was pointing at stuff Quote

Bonniebird Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Yeah, regular mirrors check, lifesaver, indicate, lifesaver, manoeuvre. It's a wonder I ever get anywhere Just mirror, signal, lifesaver, manouver in the car because the field of view in the mirrors is better Quote

Foxy Stoat seeks Pig Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Mirrors SignalLifesaver- if all is clear - Manoeuvre this is what i have been taught for my MOD 1 and 2 trainging. Unfortunately i have picked up a bad habit when out on my own of using indicators then mirror. I curse myself every time. Quote
