Ged Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hey everyone not been on in a while I hope everybody is okay, I've been out on my bike not that much, but I couldn't help but notice a whistling sound when I drop gears, I hope it's nothing serious any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.I've also got an engine light on I'm gonna head down to my local garage also I've not had a service I think it'll be that I'm not sure. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 Does it whistle if you blip the throttle in neutral? Could be an air leak. But could also be chain related, just depends on what it actually sounds like. Mention it when you book it in. Quote
TimR Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 are you sure the whistle is bike related Not your helmet visor whistling if its become loose/ Deformed / open Quote
rennie Posted July 19, 2019 Posted July 19, 2019 I've merged your threads and put them in the right place Sounds likely to be the chain to me! Quote
Ged Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm going to book it in the shop on Tuesday, I've not ridden it consistently for a while on and off, I've bee very anxious when riding around on it I'm slowly over coming it though. I'll do a follow up reply once the mysterious engine light diagnosis is found cheers and thanks. Quote
Ged Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 Just a quick conclusion about the bike guys, turns out it was just a throttle sensor. It was nothing major. Thanks for all your suggestions. Quote
