Bologna998 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Hi everyone I just switched from my old GoPro 3 to the new 8 with Hypersmooth 2.0. So far, it's fabulous, the image stabilization is astounding I tried it out on my Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer, take a look:https://youtu.be/xzmk6UpBT0E Quote
Bologna998 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 It's an enormous step forward from my old GoPro 3. That thing was shaky as I don't know what The 8 also has a boost mode which makes things even smoother, but I haven't tried that yet. Will be subject of another video Quote
Guest Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 That is fantastic! How much are those going for now? Quote
Bologna998 Posted October 28, 2019 Author Posted October 28, 2019 Thanks! I think the Hero 8 is around 430€ which is a bit steep, but you can hand in an old camera and save 100 Quote
jafman Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 in terms of the video it really is first class. the mount position is really good too. is it a chest mount? Only criticism and it might be by design if so forgive me but hearing the engine/exhaust is half the fun for me. It felt like 3 minutes of being denied! Quote
learningtofly Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 That looks very good. Were you wearing the chest harness, and if so how much of a faff is it? Quote
Gerontious Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Without ploughing through the documentation, I have just one question.. The same question I've asked about every iteration of the GoPro.Can it be directly powered or is it battery only. Quote

Bologna998 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Took a winter break and am back now On your last questions:The GoPro is rechargable battery powered. The charge doesn't last too long, though. I think there is an extra battery pack you can add, at least for older GoPro versions - the 8 has no separate casing anymore.I also really miss the engine sound! When a GoPro is right in the wind, you will hear only that from a certain speed on. I will be trying some microphones, though, fingers crossed.Yes, I'm wearing a chesty here. Actually, it's a bit funny to put on when you're wearing a stiffer jacket It is certainly no good in terms of safety if you crash because it is right on your chest. You should also check the camera angle as you're sitting (incl. hands on the handlebars) to make sure you're filming not just your tank or something. Other than that I like it quite a lot, I find it more dynamic than a tank mount. Quote
jedibiker Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Great quality. Also love how the video embeds into the post. Quote
Bologna998 Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 Thanks! I'm working on some new Scrambler stuff with this camera, shouldn't be long Quote
