Gerontious Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I didnt add to this because I tend to avoid Cochem.. or rather, I'm asked/TOLD to avoid Cochem. And.. our Hotel at neuerburg is a real favourite now so we have never been tempted to try anywhere else.. and we really do tend to avoid tourist traps. like Cochem and Vianden. If I was going to luxembourg though.. and didnt mind splashing out a little. Staying at a great place in a great area. (with great food) for a "few days"..I would stay with the mad dutch couple who own the hotel at Kautenbach... just check out the roads in the immediate area. They're Dutch.. and the website is also dutch. But.. they speak perfect english (obviously) and just a glance at the website shows exactly the clientele they are aimed at. Not cheap.. but it is stunning. We absolutely love stopping there for meals.https://www.hotelhuberty.com/het-hotel Quote
Stu Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 Thanks Gerontious I will add that one to my short list too Quote
Pie man Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I am looking at going to Germany with a mate in May Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for accommodation? I am looking at going to Cochem area for a few days Hello StuI would like to recommend "Hotel Zur Post" in Klotten, just outside Cochem. A days ride from either Europort or Calais. I have been several times and never been disappointed, short ride to the Nurburgring & Berkastel Kues and the like. Book quick though, its a popular place. Klaus himself is a biker and the facilities there are great. Secure indoor parking and drying room. Klaus and his team are also great cooks, the food is amazing. There is a little Dutch bar up the road and several eateries, and only a taxi ride in to Cochem. https://www.hotelzurpost-klotten.de/en/home.html Also forgot to mention this place http://www.mueller-kyllburg.de/english/ Quote
