Mississippi Bullfrog Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Is the new battery fully charged?Otherwise it sounds like it's not generating electrical charge. Quote
fastbob Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Check all connections especially the earth to the frame or engine . Quote
rightstuff Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Don't think it's a wiring problem if it starts with a jump either charging or problem with the starter Quote

McBert Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 No lights no power at all, noticed the rectifiyer regulator getting hot is this normal as never noticed this before. Quote
McBert Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Rectifier seems roasting as never noticed this before is this normal or could this be problem? Semi thinking it could be solenoid as it seemed to drain battery even when switched off.. (arrrgghh (doin my freaking Heid in,, )(aye am Scottish ) Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Have you checked for battery voltage and continuity at the Reg/Rec and tested the stator Quote
fastbob Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Don't think it's a wiring problem if it starts with a jump either charging or problem with the starter So you think it will still charge up if there is a loose wire ? How does the power get INTO the battery ? Quote
McBert Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Not aware of any loose wires had look nothing obvious?? Quote
McBert Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Replaced starter couple month ago so surely it's not starter,, anyhow it does start as long as fresh power is getting to it.?? Quote
McBert Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Yes definitely correct battery think it's reggy/reccy, so think that is my next attempt as its cheaper option.. Quote
McBert Posted January 19, 2020 Author Posted January 19, 2020 Hi all Seems the reggy/reccy was faulty, changed it then it's fired up as usual started up 5 times now all seems okay. Quote
