Hi [mention]gymwitch[/mention] Not sure if they are the same as what's in your carb? The Nc23 used pilot screw's in side of carb! and on Honda parts list they have different part numbers on 2 carbs!! Sorry can't remember.

Do they look the same? and they are Brass so won't rust as in your other post! just dirty old fuel probably.

Hi [mention]gymwitch[/mention] did you photograph the position of the jets and screws on at least one carb as you stripped them?

Also hate to do this to you but did you think of leaving one mostly assembled to act as a template when you start to reassemble?

Im just following a youtube video. Podspeeduk. He said to give him a shout if i get stuck.....he's going to regret that . Oh well, everything will be spotless when im finished and then i will cross the bridges as i get to them or chuck the bike in the river as i cross

Got all the internal bits and carb bowls soaking in wynns carb cleaner. How long is it safe to leave them in there? Andy is going to bring home one of those sonic cleaner doofas when he next uses his car...hes on his scoot at the mo. ??

yes i had a look there a while ago its just down the road from where they make pizzas and as you say the guy was extremely friendly when i was there with a few bikes for sale and bike clothing well worth a look

Well done lass.

If you can get the insides of jets and other tubes the same you will have done well.

I have on occasion had to resort to a 50. 50 mix of diesel and coke and a week long soak.

Have you had a person less worried about electrikery hook up a battery yet?

I would be wanting to check lights, horn etc but starter motor at first with plugs out please.

The tank interior is quite rusty. Any proven methods from anyone to sort this?? Ive searched but like anything else one method contradicts another.

I have seen a product somewhere that cleans and restores the inside of the tank, it's a 2 part process but i can't remember where i have seen it, i will have a look and post a link if i can find it

it has got mixed reviews and apparantly does NOT come with instructions, i would advise doing some research on other products first as this seems rather expensive for what it is supposed to do, it might pay in the longrun to send to a specialist and have it professionally done just for that peace of mind

In the past I read an article where rust was removed from inside a tank by putting in a length of chain that had nuts and bolts through it (So they aren't loose in the tank). The tank was wrapped in several blankets and left going round in a cement mixer till the rust had been scraped off.

Seemed a beautifully simple idea.

Obviously the loose rust will have to be cleaned out using spirit afterwards.

Possibly worth investigating as those chemical treatments really do seem to have mixed reviews.

Well there's your answer, get him to make you a new one using the original as a template
