Pruning a tree shouldn't require consent. Is if you fell the tree that it could become an issue.

How will the council know if the tree has been pruned? Unless you're cutting it by half...

Why is it that you have to wait for months to receive a reply from the local county council for a response to whether you can trim a tree (not a protected one) whereas, you get a new CRB check done on the same day?

Is the tree at risk? :classic_biggrin:

If some twat reported it as dangerous, they would be on your case in a flash :classic_laugh:

Went to go shopping, got round the corner, something doesn't feel right, nearside rear tyre flat, walked back home to get footpump and it has a nail/screw in it, luckily in the middle of the tread so can easily be plugged, i have one of those tyre weld canisters but wasn't worth using on this occassion :thumb:

Due to the demise of CentOS 6 I've now got the grim task of migrating over 600GB (100+ accounts) of data to a new server which runs on CentOS 7.

Made even more complicated by having to install and reconfigure Cloud Linux (with all it's multiple components), Kernel Care, and CP Guard as well.

This will probably take about 4 days to complete!

You going to be on hand to bring the trolleys back @Stu?

Yep my husband cut down some of my fathers trees (his trees in his garden) and sure enough the next week some officious person complete with clipboard knocked on the door to tell him he wasn’t allowed to do that. Which obviously he is but some people love telling tales on their neighbours and hassle always follows.

I had the same when i put up my polytunnel, as we live in a council property I have to be careful of what I do.

I wanted some sort of shed, but couldn't be arsed going through all the red tape palava, looking online at the what you can/can't do under the tenancy agreement, i found that you can erect a temporary structure.

So with this in mind, I built a temporary floor in 4 sections bolted together, the polytunnel sits on top and held down by bungees.

Now technically a temporary structure can only be up for 28 days, after which it has to be taken down, but there is no reference to how long the said structure must be taken down for.

At the moment it has been up for over 2 years :classic_biggrin:

The regs are laid out

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tree-preservation-orders-and-trees-in-conservation-areas#limitations

There are exemptions as shown below

Most people fall foul of conservation area restrictions

But it's best to play safe and still make contact and discuss your intent

How will they know ..If seen doing it tree officers can stop and discuss and if required request/order work to cease and then can bring criminal proceedings against

If someone raises a complaint that work has been carried out they will investigate.

And the fines that can be implemented can be high  and the financial implications on the future care of that tree( mainly attributed go Council/Highways )owned trees can be passed onto you ( ie if remedial work or any issues caused ( ie tree fails etc)as a result of your actions .

If it has no TPO and not located within a Conservation area all you require is the owners permission .

You do have the legal right to prune back to your boundary without permission.

However it is best to discuss with the owner , they nay be unaware its causing such an issue .

Do not listen to the old myth of just throwing the waste back as this can be seen as Flytipping.Even though the branches are still legally the property of the owner raise the waste disposal with the owner. If no permission given its just easier to dispose of them by yourself

And if no permission given do not exceed the boundary UNLESS conformation is to the detriment of the tree

And in any cases all works should be not to the detriment of the tree

( All cuts back to suitable pruning points even if this is not to the maximum permitted area .

About to spend moola in sportsbikeshop. Is there some sort of link or reference number you want us to use?

I think using the link from the forum registers it in some way :thumb:

It's just a case of hunting for it, open up various threads until it pops up
