I tested a R1300GS and it was fine. Why they can't be consistent is a mystery to me.

From my extensive experience with car manufacturers the technical marketing term is "zero fuxks given"

Got last 2 weeks of September off and planning to go home (Netherlands), family told me they're going to Italy during the first week.

Iron Butt challenge to Italy on 13th of September night and 18th of September to Netherlands? Thinking about it......

One's butt can only reach a certain amount numbness.

Pain though........

You know you want to do it, you have to show off the new bike.

Had to drop the van off for a slight knock, MOT is due soon and it's still in warranty, buying a van with 5yr warranty has worked out fairly well for me, not so for them, best start saving for when it's up 😂

Turns out it needs a new steering rack so not back till tmrw, I would imagine an OEM dealer rack is going to be a hefty bill.

I've done some pretty iron butt things in my time!  I'd say if you get chance and you think you have at least a 40% chance of doing it then go for it.  I will never forget my trip to torrevieja on a blade . Or the pudsey run thing we did. But the one that will never leave me is bordon to telford on a puch maxi  in late November on a Friday night

Anyone that driven to France will be familiar with their strange law regarding % of forgien music on the radio. Not quite an iron butt BUT 😂 I did West Yorkshire to the Spanish boarder in 1 sitting in a type R (bucket seats, no cruise and a painful amount of shyte French music) pretty easy. Just nailed Red Bull during my 4 fuel stops. In those days no speeding fines arrived home so it was entusiasm all the way

I remember picking up some very scares looking hitch hikers as I came back through the pyranees after a house viewing. They really didn't appreciate nor forsee such abuse of the rev limiter as we screamed through the mountain.

Two spring to mind:

1. Honda XL250 (4-stroke Trial bike). Weston Super Mare to Lossiemouth (only stopped for fuel en-route).

2. Huntingdon - Scotland 500 and back (10 days) on t'Harley.

Note: Trip 2 resulted in me a VERY pricey hammock seat and rider backrest!
