Bike evaluation

Hello all,

 

I own a 2001 NSR125 R1 with 9800 miles on the clock. I've had her since 2011 only putting 1000 miles on the clock. I don't use it no more so want to sell it, but have no idea what they are worth these days. it runs mechanically sound, has full mot, and is in average-good condition. what do you think I can get for it?

Have you looked on Autotrader for what they are going for? That's usually a good indication what you can expect to get.

I've looked on bike trader, gum tree and ebay. And could only find one, on gum tree, Its in better condition visually(but isn't originally colours)  but has done 30,000 miles.

It's hard to put a price on a bike like that as there's not many of them about and they are only worth what someone is willing to pay! 

I would start high and aim to come down if there is no interest 

Deciding what the start it at is the hard part!

Well I've found a few more and they average 1k but no mention of mileage and one had iffy starter

Project non runner for 450 but bits missing.

 

What would you be happy with?  Put it up for 2k and see what interest you get, if your not in a rush there's nothing to loose, you could start higher and reduce later

thats not a bad looking bike and as said start off with an upper price and if no joy you can always drop it

As above start high.  You will get some silly low offers normally for cash ignore them...  Dealers hoping your desperate.  Then wait a month or 2 for 3 genuine buyers to come along at once..

It seems to work like that or you priced it to low and the dealers offer seems sensible but your happy so no issues.
