Depends if you have power out there.

I used to get rats in the shed where my fishing gear was stored. Winter came along and they got in to our cavity walls, and ended up in the loft.

I got a couple of these and not had a problem since.

Very successfully ... we where fighting them off with shitty sticks but now they are no more ... not proud of killing ,, but needed a rat poo free garden for my children ...

Or I could come along with a cricket bat for some rat bashing, it works well as I found out when I was a labourer at a building site about 16 yrs ago, I was tasked with the job of rats in a new build home and got a good swing at a good few of them
