Guest Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 My Triumph Tiger 885 After 3 months of working on it, and at times some frustration, it has a MOT and is back on the road!. It had been stood in a garage since 2015, and time had took it toll on some of the mechanics. Brake calipers all had to be overhauled, fork leg seals leaking badly, wheel bearings nearly seized, but the worst was the carbs. Inlet rubbers perished, carbs gummed up, carb gaskets perished, needle valves shot, jets blocked almost solid......replaced them all, but it took several tries to get them 100% clear and working. Took it for it's MOT on Monday, and it failed on.............no pillion foot pegs fitted, I never gave them a thought. Ordered new ones straight away, they came on Wednesday, fitted them, took it back and got the MOT pass. Iam well pleased, chatters a bit on tick over, but sounds great on the throttle.....pulls like the proverbial train. All that is left is a few cosmetics to tidy up, nothing big. Now iam ready for spring, I will have some rides over the next couple of months, when weather allows. The previous owner gave me a good base to work on, it would take all day to list what he had done to the bike before it was stood in his garage. Would I do it again with another bike.....doubt it, as I was struggling with space and facilities in my small steel shed. But as said, very happy with how it as turned out. Quote
