 IT contract would cover that in under two weeks. Get released after 6 months and have a six month holiday.

I was once chatting to the Owner of a Jewellery store I worked at. He told me a story of how in his younger days he went over to The Riviera Maya in Mexico to teach English as a second language. 

 

He went to the office and introduced himself etc and they told him they hadn't got things arranged yet and to come back in a week and it should all be sorted. He was nonplussed, figured he could do a bit of sightseeing and enjoy himself. This carried on for 8 months before they finally sent him home!! 

 

He had an apartment as part of his contract and was getting money paid into his account every month so was having a great time. All he had to do was go into the office once a week to see if they had anything for him to do and the answer was always no

I'm not sure how that's going to work. My brother-in-law lives in Barbados but came home just before Christmas for his father's 90th birthday. Now he can't get home again as there's no flights. 

 

Plus you have to spend a fortnight in isolation on arrival, either in a hotel at your own cost, or at a military barracks for free - even if you own your own home on the island.

I'm on my shift break at the moment. But I've a cart load of HR stuff to catch up with, so i thought I'd work the week at home.

I now understand peoples frustrations..

Team meetings where an adolescent suddenly appears behind you wittering on about nonsense. Dog that randomly barks...

House full of people trying to do the same.

Its not as easy as i thought.
