We occasionally buy little surprise presents to be delivered to our grandkids. I decided to buy a couple of small Meccano items for my son’s kids and could only find them in Argos. Ordered at 4pm, delivered to a small town about 15 miles from Norwich at 6.45.

Impressed? I am. I’ll be using them again.

It could have been. Meccano themselves use Amazon.

Whatever, it’s still bloody impressive.

Never had same day delivery from amazon. Unless its a pay more extra as I'm too tight to pay anything for delivery if I can avoid it.

Agreed. I've used it myself loads of times. £3.99 for same day delivery is bloody good whichever way you look at it. :thumb:

I spent £40 in total. Given they live 250 miles from me, I can’t think of a better or more cost effective way of getting it to them.

I've used it as I'd rather pay £3.99 than go into the middle of Bradford on a Saturday afternoon (or at any other time come to think of it)

Most of our stuff gets delivered these days!

A lot of places offer free delivery if spending over a certain amount and we have amazon prime which gives us next day delivery on most items

Unfortunately all this is going to have a massive knock on affect to the high street and smaller shops! They just can't compete with the price delivered to your door and everyone goes for the cheapest and convenience!

A lot of the shops round here are doing on line stuff with either free local delivery or click and collect. The high street as we knew it might have gone forever but many are still soldiering on. As for some things you can't beat trying stuff on particularly if you are a nonstandard size. Times are a-changing though.
