So, I finally managed to repair the mirror :thumb:

Abandoned the alloy soldering. Because either the rods are crap and didn't work or the torch is not strong enough.

After drilling the damaged section and a failed attempt to use the alloy the strategy changed.

First repaired the thread with a high precision tap. All nice and clean then I took off the damaged bit of the thread.

there were around 3 or 4mm higher than it is now but the non threaded section is now around 1-2mm. (Can't be bothered to measure it)

Now with the sitting surface lower and the extended thread on the mirror arm modified to extend the threaded bit.

Here is the mirror fitted back into place.

While I was at it decided to replace the sight glass with a new shiny one.

Unfortunately....

when I too the reservoir apart the master was showing signs of damage and the clutch doesn't build pressure.

New repair kit ordered from https://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/ which according to the emails it's on its way.

WRP 18-1012 Clutch Master Cylinder Rebuild Kit

With a bit of luck it will be here at same time as the engine oil and brake fluid so I will be doing the service on Fri/Sat to be ready for ride on Sun :thumb:

Conclusion

Be flexible on your plans as frequently your first idea is not the best one.

And most important.

Don't phoquing drop the bike... 😡

It doesn't matter what job you are doing one job always leads to another its infuriating but you will be pleased with the results once done. I'm decorating a home office thats turned out into a much bigger job, pain in the backside but has to be done 😔

It's never ending. I'm working restricted at work awaiting a potential solution to a heart issue, I've actually beet busier a lot I need to get done as it looks like I'll need a big op so won't be doing a great deal for a while after. I'm banking on a nice warm summer this year to get some enjoyment but we will see!
