simon1991 Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Hi everyone i got keeway rkr 125cc 2019 i have a little issue so when the bike been driven for 30 mins and is warm the speedometer numbers and the water meter start flashing for a minute i've checked the coolant and it's full have no warning lights on the dash at all the bike runs good no funny noises been searching in google and youtube but couldn't find anything for that issue i got video but i can't upload it here have a look the picture so you know what exactly flashing i need help please Quote
S-Westerly Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 If your speedo numbers are flashing could it be a glitch in your electrics? Have you tested any of the circuitry? Can't think of any mechanical issue that would cause speedo numbers to flash. Quote
simon1991 Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 No didn't try anything yet ring keeway today they said need to plug in on diagnostic in keeway dealer then i call other keeway dealer close to me and they said if is not engine warning light on they can't put it on diagnostic idk why and they have to investigate where the problem could come from but that could take all day in 1 word will cost you a lot i am not bothered to drive like that i just want to make sure the engine is not overheating that's the main worries in my mind Quote

simon1991 Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Checked the battery cables today all looks spot on 1 Quote
simon1991 Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Just don't know what to do and i am worried to drive it now Quote
Stu Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Is the fan kicking in? Usually a flashing temp gauge is a sign its too hot and overheating Quote
simon1991 Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 No the fan isn't turning on and other thing is when that's start flashing i didn't see the last square H for the water when temperature is too high i mean is not showing an H for to high temperature usually if is overheating an H should come up and what could be the reason for overheating when the coolant is full Quote

Is the radiator thermostat working? both are reasonably easy to check. Quote
simon1991 Posted March 17, 2023 Author Posted March 17, 2023 (edited) How can i check both of them if they working can you give me a tip? Edited March 17, 2023 by simon1991 Quote
Mickly Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Try the Thermostat first. Remove the thermostat & hang it in a saucepan of water, as the water gets hot you should see the thermostat open. If you’ve got a thermometer you can see what temp it opens at. Quote

A tip on doing the above. It can be quite hard to spot when the thermostat opens. If you put a piece of thin string into the valve then suspend the stat in a pan of deep water the stat will drop off the string as soon as it opens. Quote
simon1991 Posted March 18, 2023 Author Posted March 18, 2023 I think the diagnostic will be the easiest way will book it on Monday and will let everyone knows what's the problem so you know for future just in case 1 Quote
simon1991 Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) Done the diagnostic no faults at all bike still overheating Edited March 31, 2023 by simon1991 Quote
