That how I have mine give or take, however I find best change after that is to tilt the deflector.  Mine have always been a little more vertical ie narrower at bottom and wider at top.

I think yours is similar.

Finally, over a month later and I gave up waiting for the dry weather.

With the spoiler in the revised position, as suggested, it makes quite a difference.

It's not amazing, but for less than £20 I I'm  really pleased with it.

Thanks for the advice good people.

Had 2 hours in the seat today, and just on 2 occasions I hit 70Mph (ehem).

Very surprised to find the airflow far more acceptable at higher speeds than at 50-60Mph.

Depending on how much I have to spend on sorting out the running issues, I'm definitely going to buy a touring screen in the future.

Sorry to revive a "done" thread, but, I was pootling along a 70 Mph today, and I realised that although I had my sun visor down, I actually had my main visor open, and there was no wind buffeting around my helmet at all.

Whilst I've previously only managed short rides of 30-45 minutes, they've mostly been through towns and villages with just the odd short burst through nationals here and there.

I'm very happy with my cheap little wind deflector, now I just need to sort the wind at my chest. It's not bad, but it's noticeable.

Having returned from Germany, I removed my little wind deflector to give it a decent clean along with my screen.

Been out for a few hours without it, and now that I'm wearing ear-plugs, I think I'll leave it off.

Whilst in Germany, I had terrible wind trouble with speed sustained above 70Mph, but without the deflector the air is much, much cleaner.

My initial complaint was wind noise, all I really needed were ear-plugs.

Ear plugs are 100% essential kit. Deafness and tinnitus aren't a lot of fun.
