Simon Davey Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Some lovely machines there @Mickly, thanks for taking the time to share the pictures. 1 Quote
bud Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Nice pictures. It's funny how you still see the old Harley Davidson / Armstrong motorcycles about. Even though those riding them hated them. I've used monkey juice before as I've a trade card at halfords. It's not at all bad. And I like the smell of bananas. 2 Quote
rob m Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Not exactly with the bike but with the bike on video during my last ride in November, captured on the Osmo Action 3 I was trying out at the time. Bought it in a Black Friday deal, was quite cheap. It's replaced my 11 year old Drift Ghost HD, which to be fair, still records in 1080p/60FPS so I'm happy to keep that as a back up. Wind noise is horrendous on the Action 3, hence the soundtrack. Since then I've bought a mic adapter and a lav mic so that might improve it somewhat. Edited February 5 by rob m 3 2 Quote

ChrisBiggsUK Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Went for a nice long ride out on the bike, totalling nearly three hours over several stops. This has been the first 'nice' day since I got the bike back in October. Sure, there have been sunny days, but those were cold. There have been dry days, but those have been cold. There has been plenty of rain, wind, snow, ice, and general miserable weather but today? Warm, dry, only the gentlest of breezes, blazing sunshine. It was glorious! I've pushed and punished myself during the cold, wet, miserable winter months and now that the weather is starting to pick up, I'm reaping the benefits! As anyone who has followed along will know, I'd already been thoroughly bitten by the bug but today? Today, it has gone from being bitten by a bug to vying with my Wife in terms of love. I'm sure if I had to choose I'd probably still chose the Wife, but I dunno. It may come down to a coin flip at this rate. 6 1 Quote

muldoon74 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) First ride since November. cleaned and lubed chain and check for oil leaks. Also done tyre pressures. went a familiar route but with a couple of be offshoots down a wee lane or two.. pulled into garage about 30 mins in to check for oil. Clean as a whistle. Bike never missed a beat. Only problem was user error, I stalled on my only hill start on the route. Edited February 22 by muldoon74 9 Quote

Fiddlesticks Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Just another steady commute in to work today. Filtered past a police van to skip a queue to the main roundabout in Knutsford. No reason not to, but there's always the chance someone could take offence. Bike is sounding a bit rattley / raspy on the left side at 4,000 revs - almost like when kids used to put tags on their bicycle spokes. (Showing my age now). Barely perceptible, and maybe just a cable/connector rattling against a bodywork panel but... Will keep an ear open for it on the way home. Old bikes. Who'd have one? 5 Quote
ChrisBiggsUK Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Rode to the Dr's for my regular blood tests, then thought to myself; 'Chris, you know what, it's a bloody lovely morning! Why go straight home when you can go for a two and a half hour long ride instead?' Given that I know how futile it is to argue with myself, I decided to acquiesce and go for the aforementioned two and a half hour long ride. Would have been out for even longer but I'm very wary of my front tyres age (if I were to tell you just how old it is you would probably tell me not to ride on it but fear not, it is being replaced on Tuesday with one to match the rear tyre I had fitted not long ago). 6 Quote
Simon Davey Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I'm so jealous @ChrisBiggsUK It's cold, raining, and windy here today. Flippin' miserable. Glad you've had a good ride though. 2 Quote

S-Westerly Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I can probably beat the sky but no trees and definitely no motorbikes. 4 Quote
Fiddlesticks Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Traffic was backing up on my usual route, so took the back roads and ended up at J&S. Well, it would be rude not to pop in, wouldn't it? It made for an expensive detour, but at least now I have bike trainers that have more structural rigidity than a wet lettuce. 5 Quote
Simon Davey Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Ran out of time to fetch some tags for Challenge 25, so just had an hour around the local potholes. Enjoyed myself though, apart from the new Nolan visor, great field of view, but not very clear. Might have to check that I haven't left the film on the Pinlock. 1 4 Quote

bud Posted March 1 Posted March 1 I've been marvelling at the clear field of view with the new Nolan @Simon Davey it's only when you get a new visor. You appreciate how bad your old one was. 2 Quote

New tyre's on order That`s such a shame but given the location in the middle of the tyre and the amount of wear left I would get that plugged by a tyre shop and keep it as a spare at the least, especially given the price of the ruddy things now. Cheers Ian 3 Quote

Cheers Ian Hi Ian, Did think about repairing it, don't mind plugging rears but not happy repairing the front!! Anyway they are OEM, having only done 1000 miles, and I wasn't overly keen on them, so trying Avons ST, as I've always used Avon's on the VFR's and SV! And I can always sell the rear at next Autojumble. Hopefully the Kwacker will like them. 2 Quote
