Some of the prices on this thread are scary

Try flux or contact a proper insurance broker rather than comparison sites.

I've heard horror stories over electric car insurance which we will have at some point but not just yet, so I went onto one of the comparison sites I'm reg with and ran a quote for a twin motor performance Tesla just to take a peek, £450 which I didn't think was that bad

I've never paid over 200 for bike insurance or anywhere near it but location and garage and oldddddddd

Heard a Tesla joke the other day that made me laugh

" If your Tesla gets stolen does it now have to be called an Edison? "

I've never paid that little in the 7 years I've been riding

Paid that for the Triumph 1200, new, fully comp - but nothing over £150 for my other ones. Currently £96 for fully comp on the Harley

*cue jokes about 'not even bike thieves want them' 😁

Paying about £250 for the MV. But I'm still paying through the nose for the theft of the Tiger four years ago. Next renewal, I'll be done with it.

So for giggles why don’t we all put ourselves in as you being a 19/21 year old again, for the same bike you have now or its newest equivalent with 0 or 1 yr ncb, few years of experience on a car (if applicable) with the same stats as the bike, not as nice area, not garaged, etc so your back to square one.

be interesting to see what the difference is.

I was speaking to someone the other day who pulled up on an electric bike. He said the insurance was about the same as his other bike. But very few insurance companies would touch it.

Not a good sign.

Which electric bike was that and what was the other one?

I suspect the risk is even higher for the insurance for so many reasons, even what we might see as a cheaper spec, cheaper looking bike with many pit falls at a high cost that is too hard to overlook.

it is the near future…. it might get easier/slightly cheaper at some point but that window is still far away.

A Super Soco 125 equivalent motorcycle. His other bike was a KTM duke 125.

I’m paying £270 for a 3 bike policy, 2 are fully comp, one is a custom build and one is 3rd party only as it is apparently highly nickable and lives out side under a cover.

But I am old
