Bender Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Some of the prices on this thread are scary Try flux or contact a proper insurance broker rather than comparison sites. I've heard horror stories over electric car insurance which we will have at some point but not just yet, so I went onto one of the comparison sites I'm reg with and ran a quote for a twin motor performance Tesla just to take a peek, £450 which I didn't think was that bad I've never paid over 200 for bike insurance or anywhere near it but location and garage and oldddddddd Quote

bonio Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Paying about £250 for the MV. But I'm still paying through the nose for the theft of the Tiger four years ago. Next renewal, I'll be done with it. 1 Quote

He said the insurance was about the same as his other bike. But very few insurance companies would touch it. Not a good sign. 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Which electric bike was that and what was the other one? I suspect the risk is even higher for the insurance for so many reasons, even what we might see as a cheaper spec, cheaper looking bike with many pit falls at a high cost that is too hard to overlook. it is the near future…. it might get easier/slightly cheaper at some point but that window is still far away. A Super Soco 125 equivalent motorcycle. His other bike was a KTM duke 125. Quote
Bender Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I guess risk of fire and battery explosion may make insurance hic Quote
Mickly Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) I’m paying £270 for a 3 bike policy, 2 are fully comp, one is a custom build and one is 3rd party only as it is apparently highly nickable and lives out side under a cover. But I am old Edited January 21 by Mickly 1 Quote
