    Exhausts

Like I say its restricted on the inlet so no matter what you do the the exhaust you won't get more airflow as the restrictor's won't allow it As for the plod they would have to be very keen!

If that's the case go for it you have nothing to loose really

    Exhausts

Won't damage it You you won't see any gain an exhaust helps it breath easier but the inlet is restricted so it won't help it breath In reality a standard exhaust on a restricted bike is already able to breath as best it can given the amount of airflow you have Hope that helps

  5. I have known this to happen a few times to be honest 4mm is getting pretty low to be honest but as you can see its not at the wear mark in the centre probs about another 1mm left? you will probably find car pads have a good 15 - 20mm on them when new too
  6. If your going the hammer and chisel route then make sure the piston is at its lowest point so if it goes through you minimise the risk of killing a piston too Personally I would take the head off

    Soft links

If you are going to go for the hammer method I would use a hard link as they mushroom over better then soft links A soft link can go one way with their been a hole in the middle one edge can crush in to the middle!

  14. if its just the one you can buy one stanchion from wemoto for £100
  15. yeah fair point Bob I forget not everyone looks after bikes like we do!
  16. new stanchions arent cheap by the way! http://www.bits4motorbikes.co.uk/fork-s ... ionsID=451 and i have only just noticed yours is a 2006 model them seals should be fine from new still so why the hell the previous owner was changing them I will never know
  17. you could be looking at around £100 for re-chroming have a look on ebay and see if there is anything on there
  18. when a bike gets flooded its because there is too much fuel on the plugs and they cant spark there will not be any fuel in the chambers so between the last time you tried to start it and when you got it going was enough time for the plugs to dry out
  19. this may help fork overhaul guide.pdf
  20. what year is the bike? have you checked the kill switch as some bikes will turn over with this off and not start although I think the zx6 wont I'm guessing you havent flattened the battery yet? if not your not trying enough! when the battery starts to die get a charger on it till its fully charged before trying again its also amazing how some bikes will only start with a really good battery there's 4 you will need to lift the tank and the air box to get to them
  21. Thanks guys for all the suggestions its been a big help We have already decided on a venue I spoke to a place and instantly decided it was the place for us Susique and Rennie went and checked the place out and its more then ideal so its been booked although the dates are a little earlier this year due to them only having one weekend free!! just shows how popular the venue is! All will be revealed shortly
  22. TheMotorbikeForum 2013 Rally When: Friday 28th of June 2013 Where: Lumb Farm Country Club, Derby Road, Marehay Ripley, Derbyshire, DE5 8JN, Telephone: 01773 744299 What to expect Camping Beer Rideouts A good bloody laugh Fancy Dress for those who dare! (Saturday Night) Facilities This is a lovely, well-kept venue - the owner is hospitable and used to accommodating Rallies & large groups. She is very flexible and will do everything possible to make our Rally an enjoyable experience! With the exception of the B & B rooms (these are available to the general public to book too), the forum has paid for sole use of the facilities at Lumb Farm! * There is a large, pretty much level camping field for our use, including putting up gazebo's and having BBQ's * We have use of a much bigger function room during the day as well as in the evening (ideal if the weather isn't kind!). This room also has it's own bar. * There is a bar lounge too, with sofa's etc * There is a separate area where we can have a campfire, if we supply the wood. * Shower facilities. * Breakfasts, lunch & evening meals will be available at additional cost. What it costs and how to pay The venue is already booked and paid for by the forum (as is the cost of a portaloo for night time use) and we have divided this sum by the number of people we hope will attend to determine the cost per person - any extra money raised will be used to make a donation to the venue for the free camping field as a thank you, and then forum funds £13 per person (non-refundable) to be paid in advance by cheque, postal order, cash ( registered post recommended), £15 by PayPal (including £2 PayPal fee) Kids under the age of 16 are free Please message me or Suesique for payment address, As you can appreciate, the forum has already paid out for the venue etc so we would appreciate it if members can book their places as soon as possible. You will need to budget for food and drink. This will be our 5th annual rally we will have held and they are always a successful weekend. As always the same rules as last year, as this is a licensed premises, you are not permitted to take your own drinks into the pub or its environs. You are welcome to drink what you wish on the camping field, but walking into the pub with your can of stella is unacceptable!! Although at this new venue you are allowed to put up a gazebo if you like and BBQ's are permitted providing you don't burn the grass. Any questions please PM me or any of the mods and admin team [paypal][/paypal]
