Yeah, I'd rather not do the poll tbh! I'm sure the majority of car drivers aren't angels either

I think everyone who went to the rally last year knows I freaking hate camping!! I'd honestly never do it again unless I absolutely had to!! It just sucks - I like to be comfortable, and can't sleep unless I am. Always too hot or too cold, last time airbed was deflating, inflatable pillows were horrible, nothing worse than sleeping in a sleeping bag, no space in the tent with your shit spread out everywhere - tent smells of feet and sweat...argh!! Would rather have done a GOG/Nell/Priest - get a room with a feckin bed, sleep like a baby, and have a piss in an indoor nearby nice, clean loo that isn't ever padlocked haha!

Chains and carrying them around
BikerMooFromMars replied to MR_W's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I got the Hardcore XL chain, plan on using it at work as they now don't want me parking outside the practice anymore, they want Ermintrude down an alley, so the disc lock won't do anymore! Park in a locked garage every night now, so don't need it at night anymore. Which reminds me, must update my insurance and tell them that! -
Helmets, worth the money?
BikerMooFromMars replied to humbucker's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Had my crash in a Spada £50/60 helmet, felt like I hit a pillow - Spadas have a high rating on that Sharp website, but not sure if it was definitely that model or not. I replaced it with another one, but dropped it/smacked it against things by accident a good few times!, and fell in love with a Shark helmet at NEC last year and impulse-bought it (in colours to match my next bike! ). Cost £150, was meant to be £200. It has a funky pump thing to make it fit your head better and give you hardcore hamster cheeks and everything . Just remembered, I bought a Caberg flip-ront helmet for something like £115 from BMF 2 years ago too, but stopped wearing it cos it fit, but looked stupidly massive on my head?! I'm not vain at all........... ........ .... ... So yeah, I'd recommend cheaper ones too -
Still worth mentioning -might prevent someone going through what you did. Good luck with it all lovely

I think the price thing is a biggie for newbies definitely - you feel you're getting something better for your money if it's brand new + warranty. And then look at a Japanese bike for the same price that looks like it needs a bit of love, and you don't know if it's been looked after/if it's gonna have a major issue that might cause you to have an accident/pay out fortunes (I never knew that dealers offer warranties with second hand bikes a couple of years ago)...and logic says the Chinese is the better deal. Oh well, I'm sure Glorian has learnt more about bikes through his ordeal and I urge you to put a review of it up - and defo agree with taking it to Trading Standards. I almost bought a Sinnis something or other, then my family all chipped in and got me the Kymco Zing as a surprise. Which tbf is still plodding along quite happily today with PertolHead looking after her, and about 12 years old I think. So yeah, not so bad if you like to tinker, I'm sure some are better than others - but I would always recommend Jap bikes to anyone in the future.

I get the same. Will be changing for proper bike oil soon too and see what difference it makes .

Dunno, just searched for the closest Travelodge and this is what it came up with for 15th-16th August. Probably done it wrong somehow... : http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/TMBFTravelodge_zpsf8d24c07.jpg Lol@ Traumalodge

Still deciding whether to come or not. Would defo not camp (unsurprisingly haha!) - only £33 a night at Tewkesbury Travelodge... Stu - can you do a running 'who's coming' list like you used to please - or is that on another thread?

Most cagers in London every day. Esp all the pulling-out with and without looking dickheads, and those with issues with bikes filtering - I'm not in your way and I am going to go ahead of you faster than you unless you are p*ssed off and playing games/going massively over the speed limit - if I'm having a chilled/lazy day I don't bother to filter! And to all the bikers that don't nod at L platers, I'm a biker too - I may even have been riding longer than you, and likely been through more than most of you - what happened to the friendly nod?! B*stards

What? People complain about free stuff?? Nobs! Yep! I've worked at 3 dental/orthodontic practices and there was aaaalways someone on a diet complaining about the chocolates/cakes/biscuits that were (ironically - dental?! ) given to us as thankyous. And usually still ate it anyway . I always thought it was kind…but then I usually had some…and of course brushed my teef after hehe! It's alright, you can retrospectively be a nob (I'm sure we aren't the only ones tho!), I can be a general dozy nob . I think I've managed to go a whole day today without doing something too dozey…holy moooooly!!

You rode home without helmet? They had closed, luckily had Fozzie's spare helmet at my dad's and he drove it to me (he took my dad on the back of his bike recently ). Had so much shite to carry, stuff on my mind, being dozier than usual and I usually keep my helmet in my toss box but that was full so I carried it. Called the shop today and got it back!!!. Apparently it had rolled under a clothes rail. I bought them a box of chocs some fruit (cos in my experience someone is usually on a diet in a workplace and moans about chocolate haha!) and a bunch of flowers to say thank you. Phew!!!

Me! Copied and pasted from my facebook status... So I felt gutted/like a moron for leaving my gorgeous Shark helmet with gloves inside in a shop today, then my nan reminded me she once left my dad in a pram outside a shop and got on a bus without him...instantly felt better!!!!! (I know which shop, will call em when they open tomorrow) Lots on my mind lately - dozey cow! Fingers crossed I'll get it back - and my favourite and only gloves! Luckily have a spare helmet...

BikerMooFromMars replied to MR_W's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security

It isn't an issue yet, so will look into it when I have that big bike...will have to do a topic on all the different sh1t I tried or you could beat me to it, save me the hassle?! Hahaha! Chain in a chain pillion bag with a towel wrapped around it? mebbe could work... -
Chains and carrying them around
BikerMooFromMars replied to MR_W's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I will be renewing my insurance tonight/tomorrow for the next yr and would like to make it cheaper as moving to SE London has more than doubled insurance for my 125! Having a chain with me isn't an issue for my current bike cos I have a toss box, but I doubt I will want that kind of massive eyesore on my next bike when I upgrade hopefully in the next few months! My questions to add to this thread: 1. Do any decent chains fit under seats? 2. That pillion lock bag seems like a great idea - Mr Fro, is there no way of making the bag tighter and securing it really well to stop it sloshing about when riding? Anyone else had experience with these? 3. Most recommended locks? Preferably with a decent length that are under £100? (I will check other threads on this too, I'm sure it's been asked a thousand times!). I already have a disc lock btw but they aren't the best deterrent... Fankmoo in advance. -
RST textile jacket (tourmaster?)
BikerMooFromMars replied to Glorian's topic in Motorbike Textiles Reviews
I proper love my RST textile trousers, hoping to get a summer jacket of the same make for the summer...and RST kevlar jeans too so they can zip together (my current textile jeans look shite!) . The women's range is expensive from what I have seen online tho, and men's jackets aren't small enough for moo - hoping to pick up cheaper stuff at BMF in May. . Will you be going? -
Cameras on your bike.
BikerMooFromMars replied to Rider's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I have a gopro hero motor sports camera and strongly recommend against getting one! It's bulky as all hell and if going faster, the wind resistance pulls my head back and hurts my neck. Also, I recorded my pillion ride with Tango at the last TMBF rally with it in the waterproof case in case it rained, and the bloody thing steamed up for about a third of the journey. So much footage of fields of cows ruined!!! -
Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life. If they are forcing you to change yourself or your friendships, maybe look at the bigger picture and don't shut out the people that care about you and will always be there for you, and have always been there for you no matter what. I miss my best friend. Nothing more, nothing less. That is all...

No worries, I am now unfortunately busy Tuesday night - sooooorrrrrry, trying to fit in all my goodbyes before leaving and now meeting with a pal I haven't seen in too long...and not much interest on here anyway haha! Though I would have loved to see you Steve, it's been too long. Tango and Bonnie say meets are likely to happen when the clocks go forward later in tho month. Will make a special trip down to see you all one Tues night .

Just f*cking go for it if you wanna, so much more fun! Since the better weather and drier roads, where appropriate I'm gunning along ...not necesarily breaking laws - taking corners a lil bit faster and opening up in a more fun, "pull me along, bitch!" way! Feels amazing after a sometimes nervy winter riding alone and confidence levels have been pretty low. Now beginning do stuff I've avoided and enjoying it. More bikes on the roads too - I'm showing the fair weather riders how to filter now . Sorry that wasn't really advice, just saying I'm sure you know what it sensible, I think you have rode all through the winter too? Do what feels right for you. I take bits of advice from all the people I trust and see what works best for me. I do higher revs/lower gear for difficult corners as I was told that helps you feel more in control, and it does for me - I don't feel like I will run wide, or I take em at a higher gear and feather the clutch. And the usual, accelerate out of the corner rah rah. I don't tend to go over 6500 revs unless on a national road...then I redline if I can (only on a 125!). Just enjoy yourself do what makes you feel happier. Hopefully you will get more useful advice, but that's what Moo tends to do...
