  1. After reading this last night, I had a look on eBay. You can get a Nuvi 58LM European lifetime maps for anything between £20-40 used. There's also someone selling waterproof motorcycle mounts for the Nuvi 5x models for £15
  2. Welcome to the forum
  3. Good morning you lovely lot
  4. @fullscreenaging & @Throttled Many thanks, it seems those Lomo dry bags are a must have, see them often on YouTube videos.
  5. Congratulations, I'd love one as "another bike".. Good luck with the op.... Hope the Fat Boy lives up to your expectations....
  6. You can't leave us hanging, you have to tell us what it is....
  7. Many thanks guys, that's a lot of very useful information. I suppose with the Lomo bags being such good value, I could start with those, and it wouldn't be tragic to buy hard panniers at a later date. (rather than vice versa) @rob mI have to confess to spending just as long looking at the bikes as I did the luggage.... @Gerontious I hadn't given the exhaust height too much thought, so thanks for pointing that out, and probably saving me the hassle of returning stuff. Just like most peeps, I'll see how the budget works out.
  8. I have a 40L top box, which isn't huge, but it's a fair size, and can be left on the bike as it doesn't get in the way. As per title really, does anyone use soft panniers, if so, are you happy/unhappy with them? I'm only thinking of the odd few days, maybe a week away very occasionally, and I'm considering the Lomo large panniers. I've had Lomo for non-bike equipment and it's amazing value for money. I actually have Monokey pannier racks, so it's either soft panniers, or £250 on Monokey, which isn't megabucks, but does mean two lumpy boxes. ANY opinions appreciated. Cheers
  9. In a very seductive voice, a woman asked her husband, "Have you ever seen a crumpled £20 pound note?" "No" said her husband. She smiled and then unbuttoned the top three buttons of her blouse and reached into her bra and pulled out a crumpled up £20 pound note. She then asked him, "Have you ever seen a crumpled up £50 pound note?" "No I haven't" he answered in an anxious tone. She then seductively unzipped her skirt and pulled out a crumpled £50 pound note. She then asked him, "Have you ever seen £40,000 all crumpled up?" "No way" he panted in excitement! She said, "Go look in the garage."
  10. I said to the girl in B&Q, 'What's best for greasy ovens?' She said, 'Ammonia cleaner. I said, 'Sorry, I thought you worked here'
  11. This. I recently bought a 2005 bike with less than 16000 miles. An insurance cosmetic write off, I thought it was so nice, that I didn't consider how many owners at all. Apart from the scuffs on one fairing, it's tidy and the engine still sounds quiet and tight. As @RideWithStyles says, some bikes such as these, just don't get ridden and are sold on after doing nothing.
  12. So, so sad. It's my biggest fear. I wish you well.
  13. Good use of a broken fence. Sounds like work though.
  14. Good morning, is it summer yet?
  15. Have to add, despite being cold, my old FT leathers are shaped to me (like cling film on a sack of spuds) and they're so freakin comfortable. The extra wide shoulder pads look very old fashioned though. I'll definitely be wearing them in the warmer weather. I expect to be juggling what I wear though, at least until I can afford some genuine all season kit.
  16. That's awesome, makes you want to mount your steed of steel and dissappear into the distance. It's kinda horny too...
  17. Congratulations!!
  18. Good morning, have a good day people.
  19. Welcome Lacey
  20. Good luck Vic, and remember, if you need further help, don't ask us
  21. At least you can (quite rightly) feel smug about being in the right.
