1. Can't be mine, Mrs Fro has a beard like a rhododendron.
2. Is that from the Reader's Wives section?
3. I'm not so sure it is bent you know, the lettering isn't distorted. You don't need to buy a new none anyway, you could restomod the shit out of it with a bit of old angle from the scrappy and some silicone sealant.

Bike storage

No it doesn't.
5. Have you got your grumpy pants on Bob? 210D Oxford fabric
6. Can you ride a bicycle?
7. You didn't put diesel in it by mistake did you?
8. Noisy-le-Grand is a shit hole though... Having said that, I kneecapped a teenaged girl last month in Felixstowe for taking ages to cook some doughnuts. I deeply regretted it as she ended up under cooking them.
9. Forget the car license, it has nothing to do with the CBT, it is a completely independent thing. The CBT is valid for two years only, he must complete another CBT course before he can legally ride up to a 125 with L plates.
10. Glad you're enjoying it! To be fair, most of us are only beginners and could use some input from someone like you who clearly has loads of skills and expertise. Maybe you could give us some more hints and tips to help us out.
11. I'm also good with sharp precision tools. I can cut to a tolerance of 10 microns. My control comes from some rather expensive machinery. However you split it, it's still not a good idea to wibbly-wobbly prod about at a precision instrument such as a carb with a tool that could easily damage it, thus bollocksing the whole thing. Also, carbide is brittle - what are you going to do when your tool snaps or shears inside your carb?
12. This is not a good idea. Using hard tools to prod and poke about your carbs could lead to damage. If you think your jets are too small then you should buy some larger ones (for a couple of quid). Shoving something through them to "open them up" could very easily bugger them, especially if done by hand. If you're going to stick things in jets, tubes or passages, make sure the pokey thing is softer than the material of the thing you're poking at.

Tyre life

And I thought I was the only one!
14. Nah, vans are high compared to a bike trailer. Single handed I prefer the ease of loading with my trailer however, security wins hands down with a van.
15. Really? I hired a transit last Wednesday from Thrifty - not even £30 for the day! Bikes are waaaay easier to load and unload from a bike trailer than a van mind.

You don't half spout some crap though! Halifax do a zero charge card for using abroad (I think it's called Clarity). Eyup, Keep up Ha! Oh yeah, well there you go, independent verification! My other point is still valid...

You rode the what?
19. Only if I go back in time three years.
20. I don't know, I'm not that old.
21. Oh right, cheers. I'll look him up. I'm happy to learn new stuff if it's quality info... We shall see! Also I misread first time round Pbassred, you can increase the pre-load by adding shims to the spring if need be. The best way to learn is to do but give yourself a fighting chance by reading about all aspects of suspension and the impact of each aspect on the others rather than just focussing on one thing i.e. spring rate/pre-load. I've got the K-Tech suspension manual - it's cheesy as f**k but does have the principles and explains in very simple terms (it's an American book) what, why, how etc. Plus it has loads of stripdown/rebuild examples in the back.
22. Sounds about right. A lot of dealers put some miles on bikes they want to shift so they can knock the price down. 20% reduction. i.e. the VAT is quite common. If in doubt just buy from a reputable dealer.
23. Want one with a turbo on it?
24. I bought one of those cheap OBD readers from Amazon a few years back and it's been super handy for random dash lights - reading and resetting them. Might be worth a punt for 20-odd wingwangs.
25. 0/ Who? 1/ 75%? Anyway, you can also change the damping rate by changing the oil weight. 2/ Yeah, most do. You can grind the pin off or re-drill the bars. 3/ What's your sag?
