Honda put a chip in all their bikes so they can control the settings remotely. Sounds like they got to yours. You can stop them doing their clandestine fiddling by locating the device that contains the chip and wrapping it in tin foil. Luckily, it's quite easy to find as it's located in a plastic box like this:

Ethanol will shrink and harden old/poor quality hoses (there's an experiment I did on here somewhere). I also recently found that it can do the same to some old plastics. If you want to remove ethanol from fuel then get a container with fuel in it and add a bit of water. Give it a little mix and the ethanol/water mix will drop to the bottom which can be removed. Presto, ethanol free fuel. Beware that removing the ethanol will reduce the octane rate of the fuel.

Yeah, pretty much. I've rigged the kickstand switch wiring through the headlamp flash switch on my track bike. Bit of upward pressure on the lever and tap the switch then presto, you've just changed gear! No need to mess about rolling off the throttle.

In my considerable experience of riding in miserable weather, the very best things to use to prevent your hands from getting cold, wet and chapped up are... Hand muffs. I've been riding 20 odd years and sadly only cottoned on to these a few years ago . I currently wear summer racer gloves all year round, wrist deep in muff.
