  1. What Genrontious said really, modern sports bikes are pretty much race bikes with lights on, they’re designed to go as fast as possible around a track, and if I’m being honest, even though I love them, they’re compromised on the road in some ways. Sports tourers are like he said designed to be able to carry luggage and give more thought to a rider and pillions comfort and while not as focussed as a sports bike are probably better than one in everyday riding.
  2. I was watching one of my friends race his GSXR600 at Brands, got to be a decade ago now and Keith Flint was walking around the paddock before he raced too(was on a tricked up GSXR 1000 IIRC) me and my friend spoke to him briefly, asked him about his bike and wished him luck etc, seemed a really normal guy who obviously loved his bikes, I've never really listened to their later stuff, loved Experience though, RIP.
  3. I've never seen a true red tail in person, they don't seem to be that common in the UK, normal boas are nice too though, they get to about the same size don't they?, I found BRBs the perfect size and temprement, managable and a really good feeder, needed a lot of humidity though and liked to swim!.
  4. Yeah she was a really chilled snake and very shiny!, I'd love another one, or a Red Tail Boa one day.
  5. ] Is that snake what I think it is? , I’m guessing you know how big they get, bet he/she will be a handful when they’re older!. 75% kalatoa superdwarf, 25% selayer dwarf. Hector should top out 7-10ft 2yrs old 5ft and 600g. Puppy dog tame. I do my research. Gorgeous looking snake , relieved you didn't get a normal sized one Found a pic of my old one, which sadly I don't have anymore. https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/download/file.php?mode=view&id=24966

  8. CR 125 was the first bike I rode , CBT was on a 50cc twist and go, I honestly can’t remember what now, first bike was an Aprilia RS125, did my test on a Honda CB500, first big bike was a Honda RVF400.
  9. When I got my new bike last year, trying to find insurance was a nightmare as it wasn’t on insurers systems yet, CN and bikesure quoted me something ridiculous like £1500 TPO, in the end I got it for £800 FC with a £500 excess, which I’m pretty happy with, renewal time at the end of the month though!, which reminds me I’ve got to tax it as im a couple of days late!.
  10. Damn, I thought there was a new Radiohead album for a minute..... Seriously though hope things are ok with you now health wise .
  11. I live just outside London but still within the M25 and have to go there for work at least a couple of days a week, I was born there, lived there when I was small, and honestly I hate going there, the OP was really lucky, don’t think I’ve ever had that nice of a trip up there!.
  12. Now I just want to see pics of the ZXR, don’t really care about the turbo, I’ve just always loved those bikes from when I was a kid in the 90s seeing them fly around near box hill on a Sunday afternoon, everyone always talked about the Fireblade but I liked the ZXR, particularly in the green/blue/white colour scheme with the cool looking tubes in the petrol tank!.
  13. I’m with you on this, for me more because the tyres on the Panigale just can’t cope with rain well at all, they’re not designed for it and I find it very twitchy, I’d rather be on a 125 in bad weather!.
  14. I was thinking of getting one but upgraded to the XR instead, mostly for the great battery life and it’s a few hundred cheaper but have to agree, all the current iPhones are really good, I also made the switch from pc to Mac about 10 years ago now, not knocking windows or android in any way here, just personally prefer Mac OS and iOS, only switched to an iPhone from a Blackberry about 4 years ago, used to really like them!.
  15. I was looking at a friends Galaxy Note 9 the other day, seems a really decent, powerful phone but personally I'm just used to/prefer iOS.
  16. How do you actually manage to ride the RGV and not just leaving it ticking over and breathing in the 2 stroke goodness . I do run it up every couple of weeks to get my fix of 2 stroke heaven.
  17. 2 strokes are awesome!, although like others have said probably not ideal for a 50 mile commute. I’m saving up for an RS250 at the moment, or an NSR250 but they’re even more stupidly priced unfortunately .

  19. Don’t they suffer the same chassis snapping issues as the Navara can?. You're less likely to load a pathfinder up with the same weight as a Navara due to the 7 seats instead of a pickup bed. That's true, it sort of put me off them when I was looking for something similar-although apart from that I do really like them, I ended up going for a Landcruiser although that has also now gone in favour of a Cayenne, which, apart from the fuel economy has been great!.
  20. Isn’t pinking more to do with using the wrong octane fuel in an engine?, I know most cars have knock sensors that adjust for this, my car is meant to run on 98+ octane but it will run ok on 95 but just be a bit less responsive and down on power. I’d have thought modern bikes might have knock sensors in?, but I don’t know, I’ve always just put Super Unleaded in my last few bikes. Pinking can be caused by low octane fuel but it can also be caused by excessively labouring an engine, low rpm and high load will also cause pinking. Damage to pistons is often caused but to be fair we're talking about excessively low rpm for load. In terms of putting super unleaded petrol into bikes there was a thread on here a while back about how cars can benefit from higher grade fuel but most bikes don't have the management systems for it to make any difference. It's worth buying branded fuel because it contains better detergents but not the premium stuff as you won't see any increase in performance or mpg. Cars are different, I use premium in the cars. My bike doesn't say what fuel to use it has a sticker on the tank saying E0 E5 E10 so I know it's fine running on ethanol blended petrol but that's it, the difference in cost is so small with filling up the bike that I just put Super in it to be safe really.
  21. Take a look at nissan pathfinders if you want space.. Don’t they suffer the same chassis snapping issues as the Navara can?.

  23. I thought the same today , not going to get it out of the garage for another month though, it’s been advised to only ride at slow speed until the recalls have been done!.

  25. Apparently there is a RVF1000RR in the works from Honda, if this is true I’d ditch the Panigale for it in a heartbeat, loved my RVF400 years ago!. If its anything like the rumours about suzuki doing a TL1000 then don't hold your breath I think there is actually some truth in it this time!, I’m hoping so anyway .
