  1. Does this mean there's going to be a Tesla bike coming soon? .
  2. Congrats on the new bike, it looks cool in all black .
  3. Maybe I should start commuting in the winter as my bike has heated everything, well I say heated everything, it's more that it's just got an engine that kicks out so much heat it feels like it's constantly trying to burn you.
  4. This is what annoys me more than anything, its the hypocrisy, one of the so called organisers was photographed getting into their Range Rover Evoque to go home after disrupting traffic around London, It's just a big F-----g jolly for people with nothing better to do and time on their hands. I do feel we need to do something about climate change but these half wits are like petulant children who don't get their own way so are just hell bent on disrupting everyone else's lives. Driving an Evoque is punishment in itself though, although they are doing their bit for climate change by driving one, it’s likely to break down before they get home, taking a car off the road. I saw the Extinction Rebellion pink yacht the other day on the M4, getting towed along by a Mitsubishi L200, thought they’d at least have used a Tesla . While I agree with them that we do need to act on climate change, their goals are completely unrealistic, I think one of them is to be carbon neutral by 2025?, really?, 6 years to change power generation, manufacturing and transport?, yeah good luck with that.
  5. I’ve never found power lacking on any inline 4s I’ve owned to be honest, they do need more revs than a twin in general though.
  6. I think you’re allowed to cross them to pass slow moving vehicles under 10 MPH?, not 100% sure on that one though. only 4% right Only to overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less That does sound about right!, used to hate encountering a cyclist on double white lines when in a truck!.
  7. So you want a sports bike but are not keen on a 600cc inline 4 and like the VFR but it’s too tourer ish and heavy?. You clearly want an Aprilia RSV4 .
  8. I think traction control is much more useful to be honest.
  9. My bikes got ABS, but I’ve not had it kick in on the road and when I’ve done a track day on it, I turn it off, yes I’d have another bike without it as I’ve never really noticed the difference.
  10. So have you broke the law ? are the cars stationary or queuing ? if they edge forward a few feet while your overtaking them the other side of double white lines they ain't stationary ..... I think you’re allowed to cross them to pass slow moving vehicles under 10 MPH?, not 100% sure on that one though.
  11. Well done for trying to save the poor guy, obviously it has to be a really traumatic, upsetting experience, I hope you will be ok. Feel so bad for the rider and his family too R.I.P .
  12. Made in Italy, wether that's a good thing or not is a different matter though .
  13. It depends on the current tread depth and the kind of tyre it is imo, you might have more than enough left or it could run out part way through. I can’t get more than 1500 miles out of a rear tyre on mine even without punctures! .
  14. Oddly, I've never really liked the E Type as much as everyone else seems to, think the AC Cobra has to be my favourite 60s car and a real one of those is even rarer than an E Type on the roads!. I did see an F40 a few months ago on the road, look as cool in real life as it did as a poster. F40 is a weapon - seen a few at my local annual car show. I love the e type. However, I feel the same way to you about the db5 - seen 2 lately and they are u-g-l-y! Favourite muscle car is Eleanor tmg-facebook_social.jpg Loved the F40 and the Porsche 959 when growing up, there was a game in the Megadrive where you could pick between them and the Diablo. Elenor looks awesome. A tip for a future/modern classic has got to be the TVR Tuscan, they’ve doubled in price in the last few years and look cool . Sagaris is already getting to silly money but not sure how many were built, got to be 100 tops?.

I’m fairly sure it wasn’t it ‘looked’ right to me and sounded like an Italian V8 as opposed to an MR2, but I’m hardly an expert as it’s the first one I’ve ever seen.

  17. Want one with a turbo on it? That must be an....interesting bike to ride!, does it automatically point skyward when it comes on boost? . The ZXR750 has to be one of my favourite 90s bikes, ok I’ve not owned one but just love the look of them, unlike the 90s Fireblade which I did own one of and hated it!.
  18. I hope it’s not DPF issues, a friend had issues with the one on his Astra and it was a right pain to sort out.
  19. I did jury service for someone who had rapped and murdered a woman, his defence was that said woman was going to report him for breach of his release from prison on licence for which he was given life for raping and murdering the first woman. He was a model prisoner not a foot out of place, fully rehabilitated and let out after 10yrs, and killed again within weeks, wonder what the parents of those 2 women think of rehabilitation and the justice system, I would have hung him myself. Just as a note as to the violent product of rehabilitation the entry and exit wounds went through her and through the floor boards. That’s absolutely horrible, I obviously feel for the unfortunate women and their families but that must have been a horrible case to be a juror on for you as well .
  20. I had a Ducati scrambler as a loan bike to get home on last year while mine was in for some recalls, it’s a very different style of bike to mine but have to say I really liked it, looks cool, and was really comfortable to ride, think one would make an ideal first bigger bike for someone to be honest. I can’t really help on the seat height discussion though as I’m 6’1”, also had a Ducati Monster while it was in for more recalls this year and that was really nice too.
  21. Take some lessons or another CBT to get used to a geared bike, it’s most likely going to be the clutch control while pulling away or manoeuvreing slowly that will take some getting used to, normal gear changes up or down whilst moving already are pretty straightforward. Can you drive a car?, if so concept and feel is similar with the clutch just you’re using your hand instead of your foot and it is a bit more sensitive, plus on a bike you want some clutch slip, in a car you most definitely don’t.
  22. I was walking the dog a few months ago and was talking to a farmer, well known green lane runs right through his land, he had no problem with off roaders, really nice bloke but most definitely a staunch Manx Man. He said the problem is people, who are not Manx, decide to retire to the island, they know about the islands rich heritage with motorsport, but once here, and they get their feet under the table, they set up groups to try and change the Manx way of life to what they think Island life should be like, they forget that the island is called "the Isle of Motorsport", I've seen everything on local forums over the past few years from stopping the TT and FOM, closing green lanes to motorised vehicles and adopting an all island speed limit of 40mph!!!! The farmer is right!, if you feel put out by motorsport don’t move to the Isle of Mann of all places, same thing happens to a degree here with people who buy a house near a race track then complain about the noise.
  23. What a twattish thing to do!. I’ve not done any green laning on a bike, have done a good bit in cars over the years though. I remember just after Christmas a couple of years ago I was out on some lanes with a friend, me in a Landcruiser and him in a Discovery, 2 guys on bikes came in the other direction said you won’t get through up there, the water came up to our headlights and it was really boggy, we said don’t worry we will be fine and both cars unsurprisingly got through with ease, felt sorry for the pair of them though, getting waist deep in freezing cold muddy water can’t have been nice!, bet it’s great in a bike at this time of year though.
  24. That isn’t exactly right, not having road tax doesn’t invalidate insurance automatically, you’re allowed to drive an untaxed and un MOT’ed car to an MOT station for a test for example but obviously you still have to have insurance cover. Same goes for Sorned cars that are driven on trade plates, perfectly legal to do so, but that’s another thing really.
  25. I've had the guy at the local BMW dealership call me about booking one in as I enquired about the new S1000RR, I am genuinely interested in it but was pretty up front I was waiting to see what was going on with the new Honda that's meant to be revealed later in the Year and that I'd get one next spring if I wanted one as the wait is pretty long at the moment and I'd not want to get it in the middle of winter, he was pretty cool with that and is still happy to let me test ride one.
