Don't know if any one else mentioned this I didn't read through it all, but if you rent it out you will be liable for Capital gains tax when you sell it, you do get discounts to get the bill down though .

That's the trouble buying a lid... You don't really know what's it's like until you've used it, every ones got different views on the comfort or discomfort etc. I wonder... people who go give £400 or £500 for a lid and don't really like it or something niggles them about ,do they just bite the bullet and put up with it.
