  1. Leeds to that place is fairly easy not using motorways. But don't forget there's the bloody big hill to go over
  2. So here's a tale. Been away for a couple of nights with Lisa. Runswick bay. Anyway we went the scenic route up and stopped at Pickering for some dinner. Parked up on the pavement as you do next to 4 other bikes..... Only been stopped for 2 mins. Traffic warden appears starts wailing at us and the 4 approaching fellow bikers who turned out to be a support club for a well known patch club predominantly based in Glasgow n Bradford. Go to move the bike n the bloody things dead..... 4 said "scary bikers" push us down the high street trying to get it bumped. Won't happen. One of them produces some jump leads. Half hour later all is well. Bikes started. Top lads
  3. I'd have walked down for a cuppa if I'd have known. Not a mile from our house.
  4. Hello n welcome mate. Birstall here. Ride very little just for fun. Family n all that. Where abouts in Leeds you based? Another good place to try is Jemspeed. The social side there is taking off with the cafe etc.
  5. Aldi?! This is Harrogate! We only agreed to a Sainsbury's on the outskirts because we thought it would help to keep poor people out of the town centre. If you want Aldi I suggest you venture into one of the deprived surrounding areas, like Wetherby or Leeds.
  6. As someone whose gone pillion at speed and who also has a medical condition requiring the yearly camera up the arse sketch.... I can confirm the latter is definitely worse
  7. Lisa prefers without the top box and uses the love handles.(passed on by stu ) She says the box might fall off
  8. Lovely. It will never be that clean n tidy again mind
  9. Really ? Yes 2nd best view...lol
  10. Best view in Scotland that Really ? Yes
  11. Best view in Scotland that
  12. Also. Recently road racing has become a speciality sport. In previous generations many races did both. Hickman etc are the oddities nowadays. Many road races ride a few short circuits purely for the license ticks. Thus are not in it to win it. By the way. You stick Dean Harrison on a competitive super bike in bsb then I don't think he would be far off the pace. In fact in my opinion he would be in the showdown.
  13. Sold an acoustic a couple of weeks ago Sods law...lol I'll get back to you about the electric after he's finished his exams this week mate
  14. P.s. GOG. If your selling any acoustics or bass's give us a shout
  15. Now then you grumpy old git. What exactly is the make mate? Lewis has a fender summat or other and it appeals as a maybe spare etc. Lewis will be at the rally so if it's a goer we can sort there etc.
  16. What you think of the engine six? Took me a while to get used to the triple when I bought my triumph. Love it now though.
  17. Happy birthday

    Phobias

Power stations??? Different I suppose. You will be pleased to know most modern small scale stations now use air cooled condensors rather than cooling towers

My stag do. Best part of 20 yrs ago. In ostend in Belgium on the Friday night. We've been supping since Thursday dinnertime. About 20 of us. Well oiled.... In this bar/club. Having a wonderful time. My mates behind the dj decks telling him what to play etc. Bar owner loving us. Spending all our hard earned. Anyway. Bit of a commotion goes on involving some of us. Turns out the local yoofs have approached the 2 black lads on the trip trying to buy dope..... Now. Tone one of the boys in question is one big black man. Muscles on muscles. He's taken offence at this....lol. giving it cos I'm black etc taking the piss. More locals get involved ha ha ha ha. Long story short. Inevitable handbags occur. Police arrive Ofcourse we are the ones escorted from the premises and lined up against the wall. So they start with the questions. Pissed from Yorkshire taking to us in french/german/Flemish was never going to result in a meeting of minds. (They couldn't understand our accents when they tried with English) Anyway they start going on and on at Tone. Tone has a strong black west yorkshire accent. They couldn't understand a word. He couldn't understand a word they were saying and everyone's getting agitated. The sergeant turns up. All thinking night in cells time He has a go. Tone has now gone into west Indies accent (never been in his life. Was born in Huddersfield lol) They are clearly very very annoyed now..... But also clearly do not know what to do. No one's really done owt. Tone is now attempting to speak french he can't speak french..... Big police van turns up... Here we go... Sergeant turns round full of exasperation in perfect English says "I've had enough of you all. Get in van. Where you stopping? Take you home. You stay there. No more drink" Very suspicious at this. But to be fair we had no choice but to pile in. They had guns.....lol. Sat on each other's laps as not enough seats. Anyway true to their word. Take us back to the hotel. Make sure we all enter and say "We park here to make sure you stay" Milling about the foyer.... Tone. Turns round with the immortal words "I wish they'd Xxxx off so I can nip out for a spliff"
  20. I never did, though I did bicycle round in shorts, never on the motorbike. Perhaps I'm too risk adverse. I wouldn't do it now to be fair. The lad also did exactly as I would have at 17. Screwed the nuts off it to try n keep up
  21. I had to laugh. Riding into work last night. I passed a young lad on a cbr125 with l plates. He had a pair of shorts on n a t shirt. Started tutting away to my self in the helmet. Thought hold on you grumpy old get. At 17 you used to do exactly the same
  22. Yes you start to think the worsed when they don't show the replays. Been laid up for a few days with a gallbladder infection so have had a bike racing overload

    trip to Scotland

The road from loch lomond to inverary is stunning.
  24. It was a great little bike! My mate changed the exhaust and air filter and put a bigger front sprocket on etc, managed to get it to a top speed of 80mph. The engine didn't last for many weeks after that. It seized in the end and threw my mate off (he showed me his shredded jeans with legs to match. The bike ended up in his shed for ages and he kept saying he'd get it fixed. We moved not long after and I lost touch with him. Every now and again I wonder what might have happened to it. I destroyed an AR125
