  1. There are a few of us - https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=62262&hilit=gamers
  2. Well done Beefy! Congrats!!
  3. I've never seen a Richa one, but I have this halvarssons one to connect my lindstrands jacket to my jeans. http://www.motolegends.com/accessories/braces-fastenings/Halvarssons-waist-zip-Black.html That also do one : https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/103770 I know zips are a pain however... Not sure if Richa zips are compatible with other makes?
  4. Well done! I spent a few hours on my 125 just going up and down my street and around the cul-de-sac's when I first got it. Got me used to the controls and how it felt before having to think about road position and stuff too much! Have fun!
  5. I'd echo what the others are saying. Sit it and get the certificate on the scooter, then you can practice in your own time. To be honest, if you hadn't rebooked I'd say go to a different school. What are they saying you are not competent enough with yet?
  6. I use this one when I'm out and about. http://securityforbikes.com/proddetail.php?prod=P13-x.x-SS50CS
  7. I've done a mix. Mostly because there is no large bike clothing departments anywhere near me. So I've bought helmets both online, and from my local Honda garage, my gloves are from a local independent shop, jeans from gumtree, leather 2 piece from ebay, my halvarssons textile kit was from www.motolegends.com (their customer service is great) and my boots are from Altberg. I actually went down to Yorkshire and got measured for them, and then 6 weeks later when down for a final fitting and collection. I'm lucky, my local Honda dealer will give me a discount on stuff and get things in for me to try from the brands they stock. But they do only stock 3 brands (RST, Held and Oxford). They will also try their best to price match online prices.
  8. Happy birthday! Have a great day!
  9. It was my driving instructor.
  10. As far as I am aware, bike training school bikes are insured for anyone to ride, regardless of qualification. That's why you can ride them back after your passed test, and go for enhanced lessons after you have passed your test and use a school bike. Training school cars however are insured for learners, and the (usually named) instructor only. When I passed my car test, I was not allowed to drive back as I was then not included on the training schools insurance. So basically, the 125cc+ bikes with L plates are training school bikes. If they are not, then it is probably someone riding illegally.
  11. Yup, I'd be phoning/visiting them as soon as possible to get them to confirm it is full A
  12. This is what I paid for various tools and kit you mentioned. Paddock stands - front and rear - £35 = eBay, however there are normally ones cheaper on gumtree. Chain and sprocket set for mine was £35. Found yours here although it states split link, so check in your manual what it needs. Mine was a split link so didn't need a chain splitter. Torque wrench I already had but I think it was about £60 new. Gloves pound shop is good for then There are loads of YouTube clips on how to change chain.
  13. Well done! Yea I found the hazard perception to be rubbish too. I think the issue is it assumes you are a complete novice on the road, so do not yet understand/notice the small things that most people can recognize as a tell tail sign of something going wrong. It assumes you will only notice the hazard when it has been a hazard for a few seconds. Got your practical tests booked yet?
  14. My words of advice would be to make any extra security you put in place invisible from the outside. Nothing says "I have something expensive in here" like a garage fully loaded with security. My garage looks perfectly normal from the outside, with a "Warning - Dangerous dogs" sign on the side gate (get a motion senor speaker too if you like!) and a car parked up close the the front door. Noone would think "whats in that garage...?". Also, keep an eye on whose watching or hanging around when you are coming home. A number of occasions I've noticed suspicious looking mopeds and cars apparently following me. I end up going for a ride somewhere else to get rid of them before going home.
  15. Congrats Hoggs!
  16. Thanks everyone! As is fast becoming a tradition, it's started snowing up here again! So my idea of heading out on the bikes as been scuppered.
  17. I've never been, but I read that guys post a few weeks ago. Big ups to him for going on a grom!
  18. If it is a viynal sticker, gently heat it up with a hair dryer or simmilar then peel it off. Chain cleaner is good at getting rid of the sticky residue. Changing the number of teeth on the sprocket can effect the speedometer - certainly on my bike it does. You'll need to compare the number of teeth on yours with what is stock then do some maths, or find someone who already has. Alternatively, get an accurate GPS tracker and test how accurate your speedometer is.
  19. Are they leather boots? If so, you could try boot stretchers, or the old "stuff it full of newspaper and leave somewhere warmish for a while. If they are not mostly leather, then you probably need a size up... Unless thicker socks are not an option?
  20. Serves him right. Way too many people think 30mph actually means they can do 40mph. Pretty sure councils will end up making everywhere 20moh in response :-/
  21. Skin rashes can appear for many reasons. Tried changing your washing powder/liquid? Bio or non-bio... Red meat can trigger it too. Sunshine helps with most things, so long as you can keep her hydrated. I'd say it's unlikely to be vit d related. Normally vit d deficiency symptoms are very tired, feeling weak and "foggy" head. My mum gets vit d injections every few months, she can tell when she needs one because she feels so much weaker. Simply drinking more water, less sugar can help too. Good luck!
  22. I know a few people who wear contact len varifocals and they love them. I do wear contact lenses occasionally (I only need glasses for concentration really) however mine are RGP lenses (hard plastic). They take much longer to get used to but provide excellent clarity. However, I don't particularly like riding in them due to the fact they can get stuck in the corner of my eye when doing shoulder checks.
  23. My local shop did simmilar when I was buying my agv. They had a selection of "spare pads" and when trying on their demo helmets we changed them out. Once I settled on which was most comfortable they ordered that size of helmet and those cheek pads.
