1. Just a word of warning I have found hairspray take a long time to dry out so spray fit and leave for ages I have this problem. Catches me every time I go for a night out and it's windy weather.
2. Like Stu, I'll probably be caught up in house stuff
3. I don't think you have to sign up to a complete DAS package; you can just buy lessons by the hour, take them over a few weeks to suit you, and then sit the test when you're ready. I'd have thoughtthat any school should be happy to help you out on that basis. You'll have to pay for the time to take the test just as if it was a lesson, as you'll need their bike (and insurance) to take it with.
4. It's been good reading
5. Hopefully that's got you the information you need. But ask if you've got more questions.
6. I'd have thought your best off doing your CBT and doing your A2 test once you're 19 but before the two-year CBT window runs out. Seems to me that you don't get any benefit from doing the A1 test as well.
7. Sounds like a great event - have a good ride
8. It partly depends on your options for buying locally. If you've got stores with a good selection of stuff nearby then using them might be a great option. For me, I've got to go about 40 miles to get to a decent clothing store, and even then it's sometimes worth the trip to be able to try things on and get a good fit or advice from the people in the shop or whatever. Most of the time, though, I end up buying online. It works well, but like has been said, you can get caught with the cost of returning stuff as most clothing items are pretty heavy. Sportsbikedirect do free returns on everything, and I use tend to use them more than others for this reason. One thing I've found out though is that some items, like leathers and summer gloves, are really hard to buy online as the fit needs to be quite snug. And of course you need to try a helmet on before you know whether it's going to fit and provide the protection you need.
9. Ebay. Search for completed items to find out which categories to use and what price you might get.
10. Oh no that sucks. That's really bad luck Sorry no wise advice from me except you'd do better to start a new thread with a title like "Help Help Bike Wont Start" as you might get more people looking at it than sticking it on the back of this thread.
11. I took the new Mobius 2 on a trip to the countryside yesterday for its first outing, and, as promised to Mawsley, here's a brief review. The camera is pretty easy to use. Although it supports dozens of different video options, when you're using it you can only switch between two different video modes and one photo mode, which you set up in advance. So I downloaded the set up program, and once I'd realised you have to put the SD card in before it will recognise the camera, it was a doddle to choose some likely options to start out with. I guess this would be about a two-spanner job on the Haynes scale. I also took the battery out and replaced it with a capacitor so I can run it without fussing with rechargers: one spanner. I've fixed it to the bike using some random RAM stuff lying about the garage and a RAM camera mount. It's set up so that it just peeks out by the side of the screen, within easy reach and close the bike's cigaratte lighter thingy. And here a couple of one-to-two-minute clips to give an idea of the results. 1080p 30fps. Wide angle C2 lens. https://youtu.be/zjqJa8YxRBM 720p 60fps. Wide angle C2 lens. They were both taken in sunny conditions, but the sun was a bit low (and in the second clip I was riding a lot into the sun) and you can see the camera struggling to adapt to the variations in light and shade. There's a "WBR" option which is meant to give better results under these conditions, but it wasn't one of options I'd set up for either of my video modes. All in all, I'm really chuffed. It seems to be a neat, small, low-cost low-fuss camera that produces reasonable quality video.
12. Jealous?? Hoggs how low of you Ok tbh I'm jealous too. Looks like an awesome ride. And beef jerky to boot.
13. Nice vlog. I went on MC1 a couple of years back and really enjoyed it.
14. For me, I'd go for the full face so there's the option to have some protection from the wind when you want it. You can always open the visor whenever you fancy.
15. Mmmm. Drive-thru food.

Yes it just burns off. As Gerontious says, the only thing to watch for is if any spilled on the brakes pads or the discs. And a load of brake cleaner applied in a timely fashion (i.e. before you want to use the brakes to stop) should sort that out.
17. Sounds like an awesome trip Going to change your name now - Something like slowerbob?
18. You're an amateur mate. I have heard tell of one bloke whose engine was still in pieces in the lounge the day before the tour, but by 4am all was back together again in good time for him to ride throught the night from Rotherham to get his booking on the 08:20 shuttle from Folkestone.
19. I now try to avoid two lane motorways unless it's late at night when I know the traffic will be very light. The M11 from Cambridge to London is a good case: most of the day it is basically one lane in each direction with nose to tail traffic going at 60mph, and another slower one that's almost empty.
20. And althought the picture makes it look cloudy, it was really sunny. Came home the colour of a prawn cocktail.
21. You serous?? I didn't see that. My first time to go, so nothing to compare it to and I thought it was a real blast. The racing on the high street is hokey but worth going for the noise alone. http://i.imgur.com/RQX0eza.png
22. True dat. You can grab an ice-cream a couple of doors down too. Ooo that's useful to know; I can use it to tempt missus back on as pillion some time. Since passing her CBT she prefers riding her own machine which means going everywhere at 50 max.
23. Have a bash at some of these A1120 Stowmarket to Yoxford B1117 Eye to Halesworth B1123 Halesworth to Harleston A1071 Sudbury to Ipswich A134 -> B 1068 Sudbury to East Bergholt and a bit further to the south west: Finchingfield to Subdbury via Wethersfield and Castle Hedingham (from the turning on the A131 to Castle Hedingham is a personal favourite) B1057 Finchingfield to Gt Dunmow B184 Gt Dunmow to Thaxsted The fox at Finchingfield is very popular with bikers and nearly all the roads in any direction are good rides. Where in Suffolk are you based?
24. madcow87 - The bike looks awesome!
