Advice on reasonable security
JRH replied to JBaptist's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I use something like this. http://www.fastbikebits.com/product/491 ... ac12802998 No alarms but can not be prised apart and bolt cropper can not be used. Could pair this with a movement alarm fitted under the seat so not affected by rain. -

Sounds like a new chain is required. . Should be ok till the weekend. You need to find the tightest point and adjust there. If you adjust at the slickest point there is an outside chance if it is too tight at the tight spot it could break.

If you are going to wear a cycle helmet I have seen lights which attach to the top of these. They are bright marker lamps though an would be in addition to the main running lights. They do make yo noticeable though and if you are worrying about rear lights theses would help. Like this http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Topeak-HeadLux- ... oCaTzw_wcB

I think last time we went to a burger place on a back wall and it was not good There's a rough map here! http://bauermediapacks.com/downloads/mcn/lmssales.pdf Last time, didn't we leave the show hall and get something from the eateries in the main vestibule area? Which was better that the burgers the time before.

surely having a legitimate reason to go spend money on new Kit is reason enough.... its a valid excuse when it comes to explaining why to my missus, and getting access to the funds. problem is i have 3 years to go with this lid, think i need to "drop" it before MCN show so i can get another "cheaper than retail" helmet You could do it now and go to the Excell show in Feb.

And if you are using a sat nav, make sure that any French speed camera positions are deleted. Garmin updates and Tom Tom change the speed camera positions to show caution areas. Speed camera positions are a big NO NO in France.
