  1. Sorry to hear that Steve, glad you are reasonably OK. As you say you know what the problem was so all you can do is chalk it up to experience and move on. It may take time to get your confidence back up to 100% but take it easy and all in your own time and all the best for the test next time.
  2. Fixed that for you Yea right And look your bike nearly as fuel efficient as mine
  3. thats my thinking Did suggest that. Went down like a lead ballon. looking forward to the show and will try not to buy anything this year.
  4. As Stu said but you could try this http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/pr ... ductid=499
  5. Not done anything HV related for years. Do enough damage with 24v DC and 110 V.
  6. Your not over weight! Just under height

    ZZR carbs gummed up

But if fuel does not run out carbs could need priming or the floats stuck, more lick lye to be a priming issue though
  10. You should send her the following messages *AUTOMESSAGE* This computer will be shut down in two minutes (two minutes later) *AUTOMESSAGE* SHUT DOWN? To prevent shut down type DELAY then when she types DELAY you reply back with Now I know you've seen this you've got 30 seconds to save your stuff before I boot you off. HAVE A NICE DAY NOW! That just evil but good
  11. Perfect, good wind down to your hols.
  12. The bar end weights on the GPX screwed into a bar inside the handlebars so you could not fit bar end mirrors

    ZZR carbs gummed up

Agree with iangaryprice. If there is not a lever operated fuel tap then the prime is a button at the back of the fuel outlet where the vacuum pipe fits. You then need to press this and hold it in for maybe 30-30 sec and this should then fill the carb bowls. Should then start and run. Had to do this with my GPX750 when left standing for a long time. HTH Edit See the button above the fuel outlet.
  14. Used to listen to these all the time.
  15. Well luckily I have the perfect alibi of not having a car You haven't got a car now 'cause it's embed in the side of a police car

    Feels strange

Hope your last day goes well and all the best for your new job.
  17. Might take up your offer and have a coffee with you. 3 pubs left and might do these on a run from warwickshire to Godmanchester. Old Sun, Black Bull and The Exhibition.
  18. Hhhuuuuuumm. The nearest "exhibition" pub to me is 70 mile away according to google. Not sure I can do that and the other nine in 90 minutes, and keep to the speed limits.
  19. Nice set of posts Bonniebird. Bounced right to the top of the tree. How was the ride, first time back out?
  20. Looks like you have to cut the back. See attached From Haynes manual
  21. I would have followed the red line. Were there any signs on the approach? Can you post a street view of the approach?
  22. Done those roads, not in one go, in a car and they are breathtaking.
  23. Glad you and the bike survived. As Six30 says wait till the good weather and you can concentrate on the riding without worrying too much about the road surface. I went out a week ago and the back moved enough for me to "clench" going round an island. Went out today and the roads scruffy and I noticed I was being over cautious on islands and trickling round trying to keep the bike upright. So stay off roads till they are dry and the temperature rises then you will soon get back in the swing of things.
