My pup went in the races over the weekend, absolutely demolished the competition, won every race and came home with first place rosette. Plus he's catching a lot of bunnies atm, he's definitely earning his keep. He gets spoiled rotten now

congratulations! Welcome to parenthood!

Don't worry, I left school without even sitting my GCSE's. I get paid for doing what I do regardless of work, I'm a falconer, even on my days off I'm still flying birds. Getting paid for it is cool though. I started young and despite getting fired hundreds of times I just turned up at work the next day and kept grafting. There was never an idea of anything else other than working with birds. I also have a decent flexible boss so my work hours are good too, no really early mornings for me (except breeding season but that's a whole different ball game) Basically go for what you want regardless of what anyone says.

Sorry I forgot to say it is the rear suspension. Was tempted on fitting r6 shocks on it anyway, but I think ill take it to a bike shop nearby, see what they say before committing to buying a new shock. From what I've seen online it isn't too much of a hard job. Just need to find somewhere that sells the bit that makes it fit

Well I finally passed my test and have been out on my Yamaha thundercat, I'm absolutely loving it, although I have noticed if I go over a bump, I'm bouncing up and down for a good few hundred yards, almost like I'm on a bouncy castle lol. So how do I firm up the suspension? Is it a matter of buying a specialist tool or can it be done without? Cheers folks

Module 2 - members test experiences

Well I had my mod 2 today. Everything that could go wrong did! I was certain I had failed. Then the examiner told me I had passed with only 2 minors. I'm over the moon and have only just got home off the bike, far too much fun -
I may be wrong but could it be a problem with the pistons in the calliper? I'm certainly no expert though.

Just got back from the test centre. Looked like the test was going to be cancelled due to the wind, but I assured the examiner I was happy to go ahead. Sure enough I passed. Big weight off my mind. Mod 2 next Friday. Cannot wait!!! -
Im part way through my DAS. All i can say is listen to the instructor, even when what they are saying seems counter intuitive. And most importantly....enjoy yourself.

Well the other week I saw an older gentleman on a sports bike (600 I think) and he was wearing a push-bikes helmet...I shit you not. Even I did a double take. Unbelievable. What protection does he expect from that in a crash!

When i was younger i used to ride my bike to work up in the dales in 2 inch of snow...i had to do it with next to no braking! Weirdly though, i wont go out in that weather in my car. I suppose i was young and fearless with an added dash of stupidity Riding in winter like people have said relies on forethought, be aware of every drain cover, every pothole....be aware and react accordingly

a pair of decent long nose pliers....saved me many a time. You can never have enough spanners!

Well so far ive had a couple of lessons in the yard, my biggest problem was the U-turn. When i went for my second lesson, i was told to keep the revs high and use the clutch/back brake to control my speed. Until then i always use the throttle for speed. But i tried it the way the instructor said and its just completely turned everything around. I was doing all slow speed maneuvers with ease and doing them consistently. However stupid it sounds, listen to your instructor. I now feel confident that i will be able to pass the mod 1. I will be practicing on my bike and i will nail it! -
maybe use kocholine or some other saddlers oil. I use the stuff on falconry leather equipment to keep them supple, dont know if it would work for bike leathers but i cant see why not

this may be of help "> " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Unfortunately i dont know the bike so that as much as i can help. Hope you get it figured

My mod 1 is about 3 weeks away, although with my work being flexible it means if there is a cancellation i will be doing it sooner. Mod 2 doesnt scare me, its just mod 1 and the damn U-turn. I cant wait to get it done, i have flexible work, a bit of money and a lot of friends in europe i need to go see on a big tour!

Heres my Yamaha thundercat, far too tempting not to ride it yet, but i will resist and wait until i have passed my test. Cannot wait!

Part of my work includes flying birds of prey on indutrial sites (to scare off the gulls) On several sites you need ear protection around the machinery. So i get given loads of disposable ear plugs from a few of the sites, they work and dont cost me a penny.

Hey everyone ive seen a couple of threads about gps trackers and i am thinking ill definitely get one, it will put my mind at ease as ive had 2 motorbikes stolen in the past. However i dont want an all doing spandangled device, geo fencing, speed alerts etc. I simply want to fit it and forget about it until such a time when i need it. I have seen some work with VHF as well, do you get a receiver for the VHF frequency? (i am used to radio tracking equipment on birds of prey) like i say, all i want is basic find the bike function, so what trackers would people recommend? Cheers
