  1. Apparently this weeks politically correct speak for a person that does not conform to either gender is , wait for it ...Non Binary . My birthday is on Battle of Britain day and I'm rather pleased about that .
  2. I'm not going to get anyone else involved . I'll do this myself just like I claimed PPI myself . I got £9500 and kept every penny of it . We'll I spent most of it but you know what I mean. I guess I could have made a mint just telling people how to do it themselves , its actually a piece of piss.
  3. Well I'm not getting excited just yet but I've had an acknowledgement from Barclays that they are considering the matter. They certainly haven't rejected my claim anyway.
  4. That's probably the best thing to do , get it out on the road and get a hundred miles on it before the weather gets too bitter. It just needs the cobwebs blowing away .
  5. Apart from when you opened the throttle really quickly it sounds ok . Have you actually put fresh petrol in it and gone for a decent ride on it ? How long are you warming it up for ? It's fairly cold at the moment so it will take longer . That's why I recommend a hotter plug .
  6. Looks ok , the gasket is on the very end of the pipe , crushed against the head so you wouldn't see it .
  7. Interior trim , right hand leg shield ? I don't know , how would you describe it ? What is it called in the manufacturers parts catalogue ? In fact , what scooter is it ? Sorry to answer your question with more questions but if you said why you actually need to know I would have a better idea how to be of help.
  8. Worthwhile jumping on just before you let the clutch out though? Or quickly grabbing the clutch again before the bike sets off down the road without you . Personally I've always preferred second gear to bump start a bike and I would never run along beside it , that's just asking for trouble.
  9. Hmm , well when you get a bigger bike that doesn't have linked brakes you're going to have to un-learn that style of braking in a hurry. Let me put it this way . My GSXR has two big disks , two callipers and a total of 12 pistons on the FRONT brake and one little disk , one calliper and 2 pistons on the REAR . I'm pretty sure you can guess which brake has the greatest stopping power.
  10. It would be nice but when you consider that this forum with it's all encompassing title and easy access has a membership of 4100 and compare that to the 9.2 million that tune into Strictly Come Dancing it does put the term Audience into perspective. The problem with trying to capture a wide audience for a motorbike show is that it would have to be dumbed down to truly cringe worthy levels . Look at American Chopper , its practically a soap opera with spanners ( and truly hideous contraptions passing as motorcycles )
  11. Hi mate , how are you getting on with that linked braking system ? Remember me expressing some concern that it seemed to be rigged the opposite way round so that the front came on as well when you applied the rear ? Have I got that right ? Anyway I'm glad you're still happy with the bike . I still think it was odd that Sheldon Motorcycles , your local Lexmoto dealership , swore blind that there was no such bike !
  12. Not just you, I didn't get a mention this year . HAPPY BIRTHDAY
  13. Happy to help . The trick here is to achieve the best finish possible before painting. It has to be so good that it's almost a shame to paint it. Scotchpads work well when used with water and detergent.
  14. We'll I've had another look at your picture of the cylinder where you say " oh shiiit " and although I completely take your word for it that its knackered I can't quite make anything out from the photo. So a light hone obviously won't save the day . Regarding the engine bolt holes , they could possibly be drilled over size and then sleeved down to match the bolts . Failing that, you could simply insert some strips of metal alongside the bolts and tighten everything up with a few friction washers for good measure. As long as the engine can't move it'll be ok plus nothing will be visible.
  15. £4.96 , five Hob Nobs and an Ichiban sticker .
  16. Another approach on things like fork legs or foot peg hangers is to achieve a brushed alloy effect, again by using Scotchpads but working in one direction . Once done , fully degrease with brake cleaner then spray clear lacquer for a lasting finish.
  17. Scotchpads , lots of hard work and high temperature paint . See my before and after pics from my ER5 Engine Swap thread . See also the BMW restoration thread by Wollyjumperuk right here below your post . Welcome to the forum. Before After
  18. That plug looks a bit black , stick a hotter one in . CR7E . See link . https://www.ngkntk.in/ngk-technology/importance-of-heat-range/
  19. What's that ? It's the save the planet , emission control system . Hopefully someone else can explain it better because I've never had a bike with such a device fitted. I believe that the idea is to feed fuel-rich unburned mixture back into the air box when you throttle back . The big bit is probably a reed or butterfly valve. I wouldn't worry about it,I doubt that performance would be effected whether it's working or not .
  20. sorry pal couldn't see what you were trying to send there! Said file was not found Yeah, I know , it was supposed to be an owners manual PDF.
  21. Just trying something.https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9LIapeqkxhGa2s2bXZqUW9abFU/edit?usp=sharing , and failing !
  22. You should use the exact plug that is specified by the manufacturer. But , yes , they probably are pretty much the same because the vast majority of Chinese bikes of every shape and size use an engine ripped off from the humble Honda CG125. Yea unfortunately I don't have a manual with it to get the specs from. I thought I'd be able to find one online easy enough but apparently it's like gold dust lol what spark plug does the Honda use? Good morning, ok , its not based on a Honda CG125 , it looks more YBR 125 to me . Anyway , its an NGK CR7E plug but apparently there is a better alternative. See this link , http://zontes-reborn.blogspot.com/2015/03/one-year-on.html?m=1
  23. I have never owned or driven a car on the road but I have managed to survive forty odd years of motorbike and bicycle riding . Some would argue that riding a motorbike first will give you a heightened awareness of the dangers on the road and therefore make you a better and more considerate car driver.
  24. I had a look at the spark plug, looked okay, but still have it a clean. No improvements. Maybe I'll just change it anyway. How would I know if the plug I have now is suitable? 125s generally use the same type, or do they vary with different bikes? You should use the exact plug that is specified by the manufacturer. But , yes , they probably are pretty much the same because the vast majority of Chinese bikes of every shape and size use an engine ripped off from the humble Honda CG125.
  25. Here we go again , it's not your problem to solve . You have been sold a consumer product and it does not work . Ask the vendor to collect the faulty purchase and exchange it for one that is fit for purpose. Act quickly before you fall into the all too common trap of believing that it's YOUR bike and that YOU have a responsibility to fix it . A fridge, a lawnmower, a motorbike, a felt tip pen , your consumer rights are exactly the same. Welcome to the forum.
